Then keep the original drive and if you ever have any problems put it back in before you return it.myxylplyx

Exactly, since there's no seal over the HDD slot, how will it void the warranty, manufacturers or store, if you swap drives? You can just put the old one back in in the unlikely case something happens and there will be no way for them to know.

[QUOTE="ShmenonPie"]Hell yes, Blu Ray is 4 times better than DVD's and way better than HDDVD as well, and you really ought to buy your multiplat games on PS3 as well. But yes, go Blu Ray, get a PS3 and make it your main console while you're at it.Soul_to_Squeeze

why should he buy his multiplatform games on ps3? besides oblivion, every multiplat game is better and runs better on the 360.

Games don't run so well on the 360 when your 360 is in the shop for a week. 30% fail rate FTL!!!

Aries dies in ff7 muuhuhui :twisted:Suliman-Uchia

As many times as I've played FF7, I never even realized the Greek god of war was in that game...

I've been saying for a few months now that Square should make Bushido Blade 3 for ps3. I doubt they would, they mostly stick to what they are best at, RPGs. I pulled out BB2 the other day. It really got me thinking about how much better they could make it now.

[QUOTE="ianuilliam"]

How about the top 10 prior gen games? Why limit it to PS2 when there are PS1 games that are still damn good?

FF Origins, PS1 (Because the original FF from 1987 is still awesome)

FF Tactics, PS1 (Because it kicked ass)

FF Chronicles, PS1 (Because FF4 was good, but Chrono Trigger was better. So why not get em both?)

FF Anthology, PS1 (Because 6 had the best story of any FF)

FF7, PS1 (Because Cloud's sword IS that cool.)

FF9, PS1 (Because it was better than 8. And 10.)

FF11, PS2 (unless you already have the PC or 360 version.)

FF12, PS2 (Just to prove that a PS2 game can be better than just about any 360 game)

Kingdom Hearts, PS2 (Who says a game featuring Disney characters and aimed at kids can't be wicked cool?)

Kingdom Hearts 2, PS2 (and who says they can't make it even better?)

Well, I guess I was a little 2-dimensional here, but some companies just make good games.

libthegod

Well.. most PS1 games are hard to find *_*

Nah, not FF games. They are timeless. You can find FF Origins New on Amazon for 14$. FF7, the first one out for the PS1 is available new as well, but it's picked up some collectors value and is more like 50$. Anyway, I found em for sale in less than 5 minutes... not that hard.

[QUOTE="Vyse_Legends"][QUOTE="omerhe"]

[QUOTE="Vyse_Legends"]You know God of War once you got the weapons to a high level all you had to was press the square button repeatly so there wasnt any need to learn the combos.cell1138

That is completley not true on higher levels, and if you're playing on easy it's your fault. Plus I'm expecting HS's difficulty to be closer to that of GoW's than more punishing games like DMC. And what you said about quick time events, they were in GoW first, how are they a reason HS is better.

No I was playing it on normal and once I upgraded the weapons to there higher levels all I remember doing was pressing the x button for all my attacks. I like to have combos like in Ninja Gaiden Sigma. And quicktime wasnt in God of War first there are so many other games with them before it. And where did Devil May Cry come into this were talking about Heavenly Sword and God of War?

wow you must be the best gamer ever! pressing the jump button to kill enemies

how did you do it? did you jump on their heads?

:P

Well, it's worked for Mario for over 20 years.

PS3 -> Reliable hardware and free online network, with major improvements to the network a few months away. About as big a library as any system has 7-8 months after release and bright future for games. Will soon be changing the way PS1 & PS2 playback is done by removing the EE chip in the 80 GB version, and using software emulation instead; looking at the PAL version, which already uses emulation for backwards compatibility, expect about a 95% compatibility rate, making the library of playable titles on the PS3 bigger than any other system. Also, has a blu-ray player built in, giving you a leg up in making the jump from dvd to hd movies, especially considering blu-ray is pretty clearly winning the format wars.

360 -> Unreliable hardware and has a small handfull of good exclusives, most of which aren't really exclusive if you own a PC anyway. Mistake, releasing the Elite 360 then announcing they are releasing a 360 with hardware changes to turn the unreliable hardware into reliable hardware. If they can actually make the hardware more reliable they would still lose money but at the rate they are pushing out games the library could be immense, but still only have a few decent exclusives, which arent exclusive anyway. At least when they went from xbox to 360 they got smart and replaced their giant brick controller with a near-copy of the PS controller.

Wii -> Decent hardware, or would have been if it had come out during the last gen of consoles. The controllers nifty, but does anyone who owns one ever play anything but wii-sports?. They should have just burned wii sports in the firmware, not had a disc drive, and sold the thing for $39.99.

And definitely just get the 60GB at $500. The HDD space is not a big difference and if you run out of room you can buy a 160GB replacement HDD for like $100.... any laptop HDD can just be put in PS3 and it works. The main point of the 80GB is as a bundle and to lower costs by using emulation and 65nm Cell chips.

PorkNBeans

There I fixed your fix for you.

But no seriously, the PS3 is a great system. The 360 is a good system too. If I could afford them both right now, I would get a 360. I wouldb't have many games for it though, I don't think. Multi-plats, I would likely get for the PS3. And MS exclusives I would probably get for the PC. That leaves what, 2 games? No games? I don't know. The wii, seems like its just a gimmick. Everyone I know that got one and was raving about it a few months ago has all but stopped playing it, unless someone who has never played one comes over. So, to the OP, yeah, I would say get a PS3.

And yes, I am a gamer. I have 7 still working game consoles in my home, spanning the last 20 years of gaming. That's not including hand-helds, or my PC. My time not working is spent either a)playing games; b)spending time with my wife--quite likely by playing games together; or c)going to school--majoring in game/simulation programming. I don't need a video game system with the word 'elite' in the name to make me a gamer.
