That is not necessarily true. Resitance has an uncompressed 7.1 PCM sound track that just kills the normal DD 5.1 track. More and more PS3 games will use uncompressed sound which runs around 4.5Mbps over the small 648kpbs dd5.1 givescreekfan_basic

The 7.1 PCM sound track on resistance is incredible, I crank it up and it sounds so real its scary, the depth of the soundstage combined with the silky smooth bass response is incredible. Makes normal dd5.1 sound compressed and tinny.

 Thats all I've been hearing I cant wait to get my HDMI receiver. Im waiting for the 1.3 versions, does anyone know when they're coming out?
