Very interesting!

not so sure how this will go, it's like comparing apples to oranges with the past materials, but Sci-fi is my favorite genre, so i hope he can pull it off.

First episode was pretty good (for me), Not GoT season 1 plot good, but overall, entertaining... enough for me to wanna see what happens in the next episodes, and i always say, good or not so good, if the material can capture you enough, to at least wanna see more, than it has done the basics of it's job.

Although only time will tell if renewing the show for a second season was a worthwhile decision.

@Atzenkiller: But he's right. MS HAS done this sort of thing before. Releasing a major title for free-historically apps for Windows-is standard operating procedure for MS and it would be a big blow...which is why they do it.

In fact, they've already done it: Halo Infinite's multiplayer is technically free.

Give this guy a Star... or how about a "Like" =)

@j3diknightdave: Oh yeah. MS will win big by offering you all those big titles like COD basically for free. And why not give away their console for free as well? Because free stuff for you equals lots of money for MS, right?

Maybe you should think this through properly.

It's called "bait and switch" my friend.

@j3diknightdave: MS didn't lose in the 360 generation....well, not financially, any way.

"My guess is that XBOX keeps prices the same, or even lowers by $50USD"

That's actually inline with MS' operating history. I doubt it, but they have done it before.

"meaning fan favorites like Call of Duty (among many others) will be on XBOX first (and perhaps only) and essentially, for free, thanks to game pass."

MS would have to break several contracts and agreements if they made CoD exclusive. They'd also piss off the FTC.

Answer: Never said exclusively... I said first, and i wasn't referring to CoD for the "perhaps only" part, but i wouldn't be surprised at some time down the road, it became exclusive. You can bet your ass that something in the Activision/Blizzard portfolio will be exclusive to xbox.

"That's actually inline with MS' operating history. I doubt it, but they have done it before."

Answer: They'll do it again, probably around the holiday season, and the Holiday discount will be the new retail price. All's fair in love and war.

My guess is that XBOX keeps prices the same, or even lowers by $50USD... This would make purchasing an XBOX even more logical, Especially when you take in to account the decently priced Game pass, and the MS acquisition of Activision/Blizzard... meaning fan favorites like Call of Duty (among many others) will be on XBOX first (and perhaps only) and essentially, for free, thanks to game pass.

After YEARS of losing the battles, MS is finally trying to BUY the war.

*and on a lesser note, I doubt Nintendo will increase prices on their handheld. In particular because it's already over a 5 and a half year old device. Doesn't make sense to raise the price on something that's already a half a decade old... unless supply and demand went crazy, but by this point, mostly everyone that wants one, has one.*

I've said it time and time again, in countless articles here on GS (and elsewhere) it sounds like a broken record. I've gotten in to what seems like arguments, with a few, new-gen kids, both here on GS and other forums on the net, over this very subject.

The more the consumer is "okay" with these increases, the more they will happen.

Whether you CAN afford it or not, Whether your "better than the average consumer" isn't the point.

The problem resides in the consumer.

If people keep paying, the greed of these corporations, no matter the field (streaming platforms or gaming consoles alike) They will continue to take advantage of the situation, and the consumer. (YOU!)

Stop being stupid, help each other out.

The rich and poor, regardless. Eventually they WILL get to price points that NO ONE is "comfortable" with.

The idea is to make these companies aware, before things get that bad.

but,

as i also said (many times before), These consumers (you know who you are) will not change, There will always be another idiot out there, willing to stick their hard-earned money, in the pockets of these greedy companies, and tis' making it worst for the people that already can't afford the price...

Until even the "whales" of the world, are sick of the price, and enough is ENOUGH!

The deal will go through, Microsoft will purchase more developers/studios, and they are right to do so.

Sony has been playing hard ball for years, and if these acquisitions help MS business model, They (as well as Sony) have every right to do so.

Its competition, and as long as these corporations are fighting each other, We (the consumers) can only continue to benefit from it... As long as you can afford to "play" on both sides of the field (having all consoles/platforms)

I bought it on PC release, and while i did notice a couple "hiccups" here and there... The game is pretty solid on PC, and looks phenomenal... Can't wait for the Miles Morales game to release for PC in the fall, that's the one i never did play on PS.
