@Auronvolgar The best way to sell their engine is to show actual gameplay. Every engine can produce a great CG video, they have been doing that for years now. It's funny that you think that all they want is money. I don't know what rock you live under but that is not why they make games. They do want money but they make games because it is what they love to do. Making games is an art and it is one of the hardest art forms to get into today. If they didn't love to do what they do then we wouldn't have games at all. How about you go watch some developer videos and actually get an inside look of what they think and what they go for. They can go ahead and believe that a CG video will impress company's but any engine can produce a good CG video like I said. It is about what it can do live.
@Auronvolgar omg I totally DID KNOW THAT. The point of my joke was that they need as many people to work on their games rather then put resources in videos that go no where. I understand they are trying to show off the engine. They can do this though and better impress the public with an actual game play video.
@anvilone It was a great video which is why I wanted more. The jokes were put in at good points and gave it some comic relief. Just make sure the jokes don't take over. I need more likes or more comments. WE WANT MORE, THIS IS GOOD STUFF.
@xover88 Fast production means a lot actually. Since they can do so much faster they can make longer, prettier, and better games. Something that devs get stopped by is production cost and time. Time costs money and if they can make something that normally takes 4 months in 2 months, that cuts down production, which cuts down money, which means they can work on more and get more done. This is just a very quick concept that was probably thought up very quickly and they wanted to get some promotion out for GDC. This is just an announcement to the world that they are making a game. How can they be going backwards when they have only just started? How can they be going backwards when this is just the beginning of what they want to do? I'm not defending the game because in the end it could be crap but we can't judge that from a demo that was made in just a few months just to promote the company, the engine, and to get support for the future. If you check out the company's website, they don't have much and they are trying to get off the ground.
@jayd02 Don't know what world you live in but in 2-3 months games don't even have this. Video games take around 2-3 years to make and those are mediocre games. 3-4 for AAA games and 4-5 for some.
@jayd02 It's not going to hurt the devs at all. He gave a bunch of ideas that he has and with time is more then possible since he has, in a way, proven that the Unreal 4 is very easy to use. Then he announced that he was going to launch a kickstarter. I feel he did pretty good for only 2-3 months of probably rushed work.
@xsonicchaos You don't know that and you cant' expect to know that from this little tech demo. They are practically showing off how easy the Unreal 4 is to use.
