I'm not hip to a lot of PSU knowledge, and while I'm pieceing together some info from reading what you all have to say, I've got a few questions, so bear with me and help out if you can.
From what I gather, a good 500W PSU from a reliable company like Corsair (or others) should be enough to handle quite a bit of system. I'm looking to put together a mid-range rig with a C2D 6600, 8800GTS, 2gig of ddr2-800, 500gig HD, Audigy soundcard, on something like a P35 or equivalent mobo. I don't overclock, and while I'm leaning towards intel stuff, I'm not averse to going the 5600+ or 6000+ route on an AM2 mobo. Am I right in assuming the 500W PSU will handle that with no issues?
Secondly, why do I see people recommending 600+W, 700W PSUs? Either a 500W wouldn't be enough, they're OCing, or they're just looking for overkill, I'd assume. Which one is it?
Finally, say I held off a bit and waiting for the nVidia 9xxx series to come out. Would 500W be enough?
Anyway, the two PSUs I'm looking at would either be
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001 for the 500W (520W), or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139002 for the higher powered PSU.
Any info or help would be appreciated!
And I've got bills too. I can pay rent and utilities, and the cost of living, and still have money to buy a system with. It's called a budget.edub30
We get it. You have a job. You make and save money. You buy games. Thanks. So does everyone else.
Dickheads aside, I feel what you're saying, OP. Sony just doesn't seem to know its own company is doing - so many contradictions doesn't impress me. I don't hope they fail, by any means, I just hope they get their crap together. So far it seems like "potential exceeds level of effort".
I'm not surprised to hear that a lot of folks just aren't as into the PS3 as the PS2 with stuff like this. Plus, $100 for 20 gb of space? Please. It better come with a severed Master Chief head or something. :)
This is CANNON, remeber when half the comments were bickering arguements between two people? Now they are all about opinion and if people agree they thumb up and thumb down if they disagree. The general bickering itself is really eliminated because they get neg bombed like 70 thumbs down.... and let me tell you, they learn REAL fast when that happens.Zantalo
In theory it should work but it doesn't. The 12-year olds that troll the comments, making posts like "OMG Sony sux" are the ones who are probably randomly giving thumbs-down to intelligent posts. I'm not saying it's rampant; I've just noticed several people making good, constructive comments that get seemingly randomly thumbed-down. Just the same, I've seen comments like "WTF I luv Sony and pie" that have like 4 or 5 thumbs-ups. Now, I'm not putting down any love for pie (or Sony, for that matter), but there just isn't any rhyme or reason to a lot of the agree/disagree-ing going on right now. It's a broken concept.
This is an absolutely great idea, but I'm afraid that, in practice, it's not working well. I'm an avid reader of the news boards, and am always a bit reserved when it comes to making comments, simply because there's always a bunch of immature postings, no one really reads what anyone else says, etc. So, the last couple of days, I've tried to make notes of comments that were well-worded, insightful and overall pretty intelligent. Also, I've noticed comments that were oppositely off-topic, flippant, uneducated, etc.
If you look at the news comments, There seems to be absolutely zero rhyme and reason to the "ratings" the posts have received. Several (obviously, in my opinion) really good posts ended up having 6 or 7 thumbs down, while some posts like "omg M$ is a giant steeming (sic) pile of boogers" got maybe 1 thumbs down and 5 or 6 thumbs up.
Now, I guess it should be allowed, since freedom of speech is one of our greatest freedoms, but... it just seems a little... well, screwy that the response system can be like this.
Just my opinion.
Well, Marvel Ultimate Alliance IS a cross-platform game, so to speak. At any rate, I'm not interested in trying it with other games, especially shooters. I just figured it would be easier to play this particular game with the pad. Guess I should have bought it for the 360 - serves me right for thinking it would work, I guess.
Has anyone else tried it with M:UA?
I'm fairly irritated if MS wants us to just be okay with the controller not working with anything that's out currently, and wait for Vista. I figure if they release the product without any stipluations or warnings that it won't work with what's being played at the moment, it should be expected to work.
Anyone else having trouble?
