@metallinatus: Well that was around the time where it became prevalent but at least it was all in-game. Those games weren't competitive so it wasn't as egregious but at the same time, grindy mechanics is just a lazy way of padding out the games. Having this in a competitive online game creates an inherit inbalance.
@vengefulreaper: I agree with not buying what you don't support but bad press and feedback also works - look at the Xbox One DRM stuff and the Deus Ex pre-order stuff. Shrugging and going "that's the way it is" is how we got here in the first place.
@metallinatus: Older games didn't have in-game currency in many cases. Characters were either unlocked via story mode or cheats, none of this grindy BS
@metallinatus: Then they should have just staggered the release. Maybe only make it physically available for the Cup, then release the complete version to the general public once it's fully feature complete.
@Wolfkcing: Not everyone can or wants to play online. Especially if you have bad internet (many do in the US alone), fighting games are the worst games to play online.
@barcaazul: you're not wrong in many cases - while it may have a solid fighting mechanic, there's so much of this game that's either completely missing or just done carelessly. Asking for $60 on an incomplete product is a sad indication of our early-access culture.
