With Thief's discounts, this is priced pretty much the same... So you are comparing the value proposition of these games pretty closely.

Is this really more fun than thief? Okay, so we consider them per genre... does it subjectively do a better job and the MP shooter genre than Thief does to the stealth genre?

COMMON MAN!!!!!!!!!

Cant we all just hate EA together in peace?

@andrew_ribbons While there are some aspects of steamOS adding to steam's already towering monopoly over gaming.. you have to also understand they are taking an approach like google has on many things.

They see Microsoft running a complete monopoly on the OS market, and a real lack of support for linux, and they are actually giving open source a good push in the right direction.

We need this kind of competition to keep the bastards honest. Its sort of the way Virgin enters a market like air-fare's/aerospace, shakes up the price competitiveness (like they did here in australia), then sells the company for a massive profit.

Yes, its motivated by financial gain but its doing good work along the way... this is the true adoption of the mutually beneficial 'marketing concept'.

Thread complaint aborted. Adblocker no longer disables video content - therefore VanOrd's comments that it was an accident was likely true. Thanks for not being jerks after all GS.

who the hell does this guy think he is talking to. Of course its about piracy, the numbers show that you sell more with a late PC release. Hes talking to PC gamers like we are halfwits.

I still get frustrated that every publisher whores themselves out to EB and sells games at 2x the price so that the 'shelf' price and digital prices are the same.

Bethesda can basically do no wrong as DEVELOPERS in my opinion but I've never seen a game publisher stand up to EB and sell games without an artificial markup.

Its quite simple that if they do undercut EB, EB will refuse proper shelf spacing and basically blackmails them into a lower sales number.

@shreddyz You are completely ignorant on the subject of CDPR, I suggest you do some research. They have made numerous statements regarding their both existing titles, and upcoming titles which will be released 14/15 respectively.. without DLC, without microtransactions. Pay 1 fee and get the game. DLC with them is not going to happen and they are good example for the entire industry.

Secondly, buying a game is not fanboyism, its called commerce. Once you get a job and stop ruining the industry by pirating games you will understand this... You could even call it advocacy but i prefer to think of it as economics. The way supply and demand works is if you demand something they will supply it. So if you want the industry to change... and its sad that i have to repeat this to people... but whining on a forum isnt going to fix microtransactions.. buying games will.

@shreddyz Meanwhile, many the 'true' gamers who dont like microtransactions talk about pirating the game instead of buying it.

Whining about microtransactions on forums is not going to fix things. Supporting companies like CDPR who dont even do DLC's, thats the only thing thats going to change things. People need to vote with their wallet with actually buying / supporting the products they want..

Read the comments on this forum and you will see a suprisingly massive % of people who are talking about pirating the game as revenge. This kind of attitude is actually helping microtransactions. This is the reason that companies like R* launch on consoles 6 months before PC... Because all the elistist PC gamers come up with excuses to hate EA and R* then pirate their game because they are pissed off.

I'm waiting to buy GTAV when it comes out on PC, and i only play games on PC until nextgen.. but most of the comments on this forum are pathetic and not helpful.

Can anybody imagine the obscene amount of money they will make over the next 5 years from this?

At least 10m to 100m... why on earth wouldnt they put in micro-transactions.

For instance, I played planetside, i played it for like 1-2 months, after which i had enjoyed it so much and paid 0 dollars for the free to play game, i just thought what the hell, i'll buy a small cash card to upgrade some choppers / anti air stuff, etc.... like 15 dollars for 2 months worth of play seemed like a good deal.

Reality is, people will get so 'invested' and waste so much time on GTAV MP that they will burn tonnes of money... GTA/Rockstar would have to be STUPID not to put in micro-transactions.

I would never pay money in microtransactions for a game that wasnt F2P to begin with, thats just me personally.. but im sure there are plenty of idiots who will. Just look at WOW gold and other industries... getting invested in a game = paying for stuff.
