I share the sentiment of many when i say f*ck all the people who are being biggots to carolyn and personally attacking her.

However, i do think it was naive of her to make this review for this particular game and not think she would have backlash. Just think about the community of gamers in general. I'm not sure if she was putting herself out there knowing there would be backlast in order to serve a political message or what.

But the reality is, GTAV would sell at least 10% less of it wasnt prevalent with sexyness and sexism. I have a running theory that things like Ubisoft's Farcry, which showed boobs in the trailer sold a lot more simply on the back of that. I think the same is true for GTAV without a doubt.

Insult the sexism all you want in the game but this is like a major marketing point for them and a large part of why their game broke every record there ever was. Because the game lets you 'kill hookers'.

The same demographic that are making personal attacks on her is unfortunately a large reality of gamers in general. Juvenile young ignorantiums.

Personally, despite equal opportunities and the fact carolyn should be able to do whatever she wants. I think GS should have advised her NOT to to this review because it just stirrs bigotry within the community.

The day the AH was released I sold all my items for $600 and i havnt played d3 since :) Best choice ever because those items would be worth about 1% of their value now.

I'll still buy next D3 for cutscenes or if they finally add pvp.

The primary difference between halo's sexuality and MGSV:

Halo had subtle and subliminal sexuality designed to give 12 year olds boners in a PG rated game.

MGSV is actually marketed to adults/mature.

@BuiltForSin I actually agree that the segment / demographic of people who play games needs to mature, and so does the industry.

I just have a problem with David publicly ridiculing MGS. So... in his crusade against sexism... rather than risking his own companies money and making... i dunno... lets say the halo series not a male marketed game with a sexualized sidekick.... lets make a public figure out of MGS.

I just find it extremely difficult to believe he was doing this for non-selfish / attention seeking needs.. I think that consumers and game journalists need to talk about this and 'hold the consumers hand'... so that the consumer starts actualling buying non sexist games.

Until that time, we will have sex selling games the same way it sells movies.... and basically no female protagonists and females portrayed in equal standing.

Halo did nothing for womens rights and I find it ludicrous that this guy is attention whoring and white knighting about sexism.

Why dont we see this kind of thing in movies? because if you complained about a movie, nobody would notice.

Yet in the gaming industry, there are a few powerhouse circles in journalism and game development that if one person says something then the entire internet is like 'woah'...

If you want credibility about sexism, you have to earn it, dont just randomly go throwing stones at other companies... Last i checked halo was a completely male oriented game with a female sidekick.

You dont see this kind of thing in advertising, in movies, in which its far more prevalent. You only see this kind of criticism in the gaming industry where people think if they flex their muscles then they can control, influence and have ego.

If you dont like it, dont buy it.. why are game dev's making public statements to another game company when in terms of sexism.. this probably constitutes 0.001 percent of sexism we see in society.

Again, this crap is all about ego, these guys get off feeling like they are important and they actually know that it will have some influence, this is why he's getting on the soap box about this. If you actually think hes on a crusade against sexism instead of ego then you are retarded.
