These fans:

I'm going to use them to take off the excessive heat that comes from cards being in SLI, and am also going to try "lite" overclocking as well. I've never overclocked before, but I don't imagine it can be that hard, and I'll also be sure to read up about it.
I think I'm finished with newegg....

I just found this site:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Home.jsp
It offers prices that are just as good as newegg's and even better in some places, and it doesn't charge me shipping and sales tax, which newegg does. As you might know, those two numbers can add up pretty quickly, and it's something I'd like to avoid as much as possible. I might use newegg once in a while if they do offer some better pricing in the end, but for now, I think this will be a better choice.

This is it. I ordered two of these video cards today:

This is going to be so great. I'll even be able to play fear maxed out with 1600x1200 res :o. And don't forget the super AA and far cry at 1920x1200 res :o. I can't wait :o.
BTW, Nintendo's press conference owns 8).
Alright. I've switched to CRT!

Today I switched my 19 inch LCD monitor with my 17 inch CRT monitor on the spot when I got home, just like I said I would. I've been very impressed with it so far, and the image quality is indeed much better IMO. But the main reason I switched is to play games on 1600x1200 res, which my other monitor didn't allow. That's all for now :).
That's it! I'm never using LCD again!

I mean, what's the point? LCD monitors are a lot more expensive than your convential CRT monitors, and yet they are a lot worse in quality.
- Worse colors
- Worse display of black
- A lot more $$$
- Downscaled qualtiy when below the native res
- Possiblility of dead pixels
- Other image problems
- etc
Only advantage they have is style, which I don't really care for myself. I mean, why did I let myself fall into this trap with terribly misinformed knowledge? I just don't get this. As soon as I get home from Williamsburg, I'm switching to CRT on the spot!
Err, Wii?
by jetpower3 on Comments
Alright, Nintendo. You change the Rev's name to Wii or something. How should I react? Should I be glad that Nintendo has potentially gained more publicity with this new name? Or be not glad to think of the possiblities that you might have alienated your potential audience? Or maybe I shouldn't care about the name at all, because quite frankly, I don't, but for Nintendo's sake, it could be potentially bad to name their console such a strange name. Or maybe not. It could change. Or maybe people won't care. Or maybe that will only be the name in Japan. Who knows?
But what I want to know is why they would change a perfectly good name into something like this. While it may not be bad to some, it can be to others and it's certainly not a better name than Rev. There's a lot of weird definitions you can pull out of that, that would potentially inalienate many gamers. After all, with what this world has come to, people tend to annoy names that sound different, or strange. Most people in my experience don't want that kind of potential trouble.
But who knows what's really going to happen? Maybe it will end up to be all right. I just don't know.
