@Prats1993 Asking Maxis to keep a single player experience offline and ditch this absurd theme where you can't build your sprawling metropolis independently is the same as asking a massively multiplayer online role playing game to go offline? What?!

Terrible comparison. Completely ignorant. GTFO

We need more harsh reviews for titles that butcher the implementation of always online. Hopefully, the harsh review will affect sales, because that's the only thing big business will listen to. They need to get the message that if you're going to implement always online do it right or be subject to poor reviews and sales. I can't believe some of you are sticking up for EA on this one. We can't even play the game!

***SPOILER ALERT***

How can this be set after the main campaign? Isaac is dead. He sacrificed himself to destroy the marker homeworld. If he survived that ordeal, the storyline loses whatever little credibility it had left.

The review seems very rational. The elements added to the series in Ascension (Multiplayer, long plaforming sequences, puzzles, easier boss battles) don't add much to the franchise and in some ways actually detract. More of the same good ol' God of War gameplay. 8.0: Great

So can we please stop the nitpicking over five tenths of a point and acknowledge the all important fact that you'll forget about this "travesty" tomorrow or more importantly that you didn't trust Gamespot reviews anyway. They gave the brilliant, innovative, and action packed masterpiece Resident Evil 6 a 4.5 back in 2012...Remember?! ;)

@ac1dcs13 @jmace1 If you say so... I'd argue that gamers not within the core market, who we know don't care about system specs as evidence by there rush to the Wii and iPhone games, may care about how the console looks on a completely superficial level. They aren't thinking about exclusives or system specs.

@R10nu @jmace1 The original Xbox was announced March 10th at the Game Devlopers Conference in San Jose, California. That video you posted is the prototype of the console and like all prototypes upon official release there were some changes made. The "X" logo doesn't light up, the top of the console has striations like the side does not a chrome finish, and the blanks between "X" were filled.

Here's a picture of bill at the official unveiling,

@ac1dcs13 @jmace1 But clearly Sony isn't just marketing to hardcore gamers anymore. The Move? All the social features? The EyeToy? That stuff isn't designed to appeal to the core market.

Again, I think we agree on more than you think. I simply found it odd and will be eagerly anticipating a release date so I can buy my own....provided those reports from Australia about the console price are dead wrong, which I'm sure they are....I hope.

@R10nu @jmace1 First off, I believe that's the Xbox console prototype right in the first few seconds....It looks exactly like the Xbox home console except with a bright glowing light in the Xbox logo. Second, that's an edited video not the full official unveiling. Let me do my own reserach and post the actual in full length official unveiling of the original Xbox.

@ac1dcs13 @jmace1 I completely agree with you that is the most important aspect. Again, alls I'm saying is that isn't it a bit odd to not show the console at it's own unveiling?....sheesh you guys are awfully defensive.

Nevermind, cut that Major Nelson prick down. How dare he say that it seemed odd to officially unveil a console and not show the console itself.
