Well, i plan on getting that tv in the link anyway. I didnt want to go so big but as 1080p only starts on tv's 40" or bigger then thats why. Coz i reckon it will be worth it in the long run as more and more games will support that resolution and eventually should be standard for games and not to mention all blu ray movies will be that. I just hope it handles 720p alright.
So this game will actually run slower than the ps2 game. Forget america and japan for a moment but the uk version when played with an rgb lead was amazing-the fastest fighting game i have ever seen, coz using that lead it runs 17.5 % faster. The game has always been known for its speed. DOA is pretty fast though.
absolutely it should. If you get a Tv that supports 1080p, it should have no problem back converting to lower resolutions where needed.
I would skip the LCD and/or plasma. For the money, DLP has great TVs. Take a look at DLP before making a decision.

But being converted-i heard if it down scales the resolution, this is bad or have i got it all wrong. That link doesnt actually say it supports 720p does it.
Well yesterday i bought an Hdmi cord from Walmart. I noticed that both the ends are different from one another. My Hdtv requires the kind of hdmi with the one of the ends looking like a dvi connector. I hooked it up and changed the ps3 settings, and the picture looks GREAT!! but......for some reason i cant hear sound. I tried to set the audio with the hdmi setting but it has an error. Then i tried to set the audio with the original ps3 av cord...that didnt work. Does my hdmi Dvi cable only do video and not sound??? please help what can i do. THANK YOU SO MUCH upgradeyourgear

Depends what you mean. Are they good ?, so far there good in terms of quality but will get better when developes figure out how to program properly for it. I've heard a few problems happening to peoples ps3 if that what you mean. Games like mgs4 and devil may cry will make the console GREAT. But theres a healthy launch line up on day 1 of release so theres plenty of choice even though nothing original bar 1 or 2 games which aint that good anyway. But it has the best fighting game on day 1-Virtua fighter 5, a really good racer-Motorstorm, a really good shooter-resistance fall of man and some sports games which i dont really care for. 2 games will come with the ps3 anyway but you have to download them i think which are lemmings and gran turismo which is basically a rip off coz its gt4 with better graphics so i will wait for gt5 before i say it looks amazing but then if you havent played gt before then its worth it and it is free. Lemmings looks good and thats always fun to play-very addictive. In terms of graphics because thats what most people want to see in a next gen console you will need a HDTV to fully appreciate the level of detail. After all its a quality machine so play on it with a quality tv. It has Blu Ray which is a new video format, It is 6 times the size of dvd and detail is in high defention also, and the games are on blu ray disc anyway due to the large space developers can take advantage on so thats good. Wireless pad like 360 so no more tripping over the wires and breaking your console so you can play it behind your back if you want to ? not sure if you can sit on the toilet and play at the same time, dont get any starnge ideas now. Em its a big machine-the biggest out of all the consoles, bigger than the ps2 and much heavier too. It is flash however if a bit clunky and some people say it looks like a grill or bread bin which is right. A slimmer version will be released in the future much like the ps2 slim line so thats cool. The sound of the fan is quiet much like the ps2 slim line or even quieter so i've heard. Its said ps3 and 360 aint much difference in terms of power but then both machines use different technology and so far 360 does it best but then its had a head start and is easier to make games for than the ps3. But my opinion is the ps3 will come out on top eventually and will be here longer. You will beable to download patched via the internet much like the pc so any bugs or firmware updates can be fixed etc. It can have 4 wireless controllers i think ?. The controller doesnt have rumble and is lighter because of it but it has about 3 new features then the ps2's dual shock which is Six axis which is a copy from the wii's controller really meaning if you turn your pad when you go round a corner in a racing game the car will turn providing that game supports it. Also the R2 and L2 buttons stick out like triggers, so will be good for 1st person shooter games, not sure how this will work so well with other genres but some racing games will use them for forward and reverse. The only colour avaliable at first will be the black with the 60 gig hard drive which is more money but then the only other choice is to wait for it to go down in price which it will or wait for the cheaper model-the 20gig version but doesnt have as many features. The ps3 will read your camera cards etc and it uses blu tooth i think?. I have only played ridge racer and is nothing new but still very addictive and a good launch game as always.

I heard vf5 will be 720p though. Dont think much of the formula 1 game in terms of graphics-very dissapointed. Blast factor, why would that need 1080p?, dont like nba games althought graphics look very detailed. Genji, too much like onimusha but still looks good despite poor score. So what other games are 1080p?.
This is the TV i was going to buy, what do you people think and how old or new is this tv anyway. I found it in a magazine but when i typed in the model No. it came up but with that U at the end of its name, whats the u stand for ?, it doesnt have that in the book i found it. Anyway i think its a fab tv isnt it.
