@hardwenzen: What graphics modes are on PS5? I’m on PC and it looks crystal clear, but I’d expect that consoles aren’t native 4K and use upscaling, unless there’s a mode for native 4k. I wish consoles had a suite of tools and features to customize the image like PC does. ReShade is an amazing thing.
@presidential: I have a 3080 Ti FTW3, 16GB DDR4@3200, an i7 9700K and an older 1440p Gsync Dell monitor that doesn’t have HDR. Some people say that raytracing causes them crashes, but I haven’t experienced any yet.
There are some stutters when you initially start playing, but they go away. Expect issues like that to be resolved either with the day one patch, game ready drivers or first patch after release. I can’t believe how good it looks and runs, especially when every other game I’ve played the past couple years have had tons of performance issues, especially with raytracing. I haven’t even hooked it up to my TV to try it with HDR in 4k yet, so I’m excited to do that. It should look incredible on my LG C1.
I’ve been playing on PC and I have to say that’s it’s fantastic on PC. It might be the best optimized game I’ve played in years. Max settings, max raytracing and native 1440p runs at 85-100fps on a 3080ti, and that’s damn impressive. I’ve not played a single game with raytracing (not even RE2/RE3 remakes) that perform this well, with OR without the help of DLSS/FSR. The image is crisp and sharp. The atmosphere is perfect. The graphics are excellent. I’m completely sold.
I rarely ever play zombie games and I can’t remember the last one I bought, but this one looks like a lot of dumb fun. I don’t care what anyone says about Dead Island 2, I’m going to have some fun with it.
@cherub1000: The set I have is the Arctis Pro. It’s definitely better than the Pulse. However; Sonar is part of the Steelseries GG/Engine app on PC, meaning that you won’t be getting the Sonar enhancements on console, but you will still be getting the 3D audio that PS5 has built in. I also have small ears and Steelseries fits great and very comfortably. They’re also built with high quality materials and they’ll replace broken parts, free of charge.
I’ll say this first: Everyone’s ears are trained differently and interpret audio differently. I’m a huge fan of Steelseries. I have the Arctis Pro. I won’t buy another headset unless it’s to buy a new Steelseries. It’s a clear cut winner in my book.
I also think Sony’s 3D audio is pretty good with a Steelseries headset. It’s crystal clear which direction the audio is coming from. Not sure why others can’t decipher the code. Windows Sonic is terrible for me. I’m not a huge fan of most spatial audio and I’ve tested them extensively. Steelseries Sonar is the only software that has impressed me. It’s virtually boosted surround audio (which I’m sure most people hate the idea of), but has the most crisp quality, with a full bore EQ and tuning at your fingertips. With that, I’ve found my ultimate audio sweet spot and I can’t go back to anything else.
