@magpielord: Veilguard did good to scale back the open world of Inquisition. It was a complete bore and a chore. Absolutely nothing fun about doing 100 fetch quests, collecting herbs and mining rocks. That’s not the sort of game that Dragon Age is or was ever intended to be. Veilguard corrected that much at the very least. I can’t say anything good for the writing, though.
That’s probably a good thing. Insomniac always makes high quality games that that majority seem to love. I’m not a huge fan, but I respect the quality of Insomniac games.
Perfect Dark looks like a game that’s lost in translation. Maybe Horton can give them better direction, though it’s probably too far along in development for him to make any drastic changes without rebuilding the game. Again.
@fbplayer1086: this is everything I hate about CoD, which is why I’m not buying. Probably won’t ever buy another, because this gameplay style is here to stay. It’s horrible. Delta Force here I come.
@redkinnar: types of characters and writing, obviously. Cringey, quirky, quippy, immature and unable to take most serious things seriously, simply because they can’t resist trying to be funny. If you’re into those sorts of things, then so be it; there’s no need to take offense.
You’re so far off, it’s immeasurable. I couldn’t care less about eye candy or Star Wars. I just appreciate good writing and dialogue; it doesn’t matter if it comes from a man, a woman or a troglodyte.
@faithxvoid: don’t even group Larian with BioWare. Larian has been doing it for a very long time. To be exact, BioWare started in 1995 and Larian started in 1996. Larian has only gotten better with age and they’ve been great all along.
