What a year has done.

As you can guess alot has happened over a nearly year long suspension. For instance I now work on the day shift instead of the night shift. I've beaten quite a few games BUT my backlog has actually grown! Here is a short rundown of the games I have beaten since I was last able to post, and my opinions on them:

* Mass Effect: 8 of 10 driving around alien worlds starts off fun but quickly becomes a very frustrating game mechanic, elsewise an awesome game.

* Halo 3: 9 of 10 excellent online, campaign mode a little to short desperately in need of a sequel

* BioShock: 10 of 10 kicks everything elses butt hands down

*Simpsons Game: 7 of 10 a guilty pleasure, collelctibles have no effect on play and there are too many.

* Earth Bound: 10 of 10 Take that Heavely Armed Pokey. Single Best RPG I have ever played. Please Nintendo release Mother, and Mother 3 on the virtual console.

*Tales of the World Radient Mythology: 7 of 10 Nice concept but where is my world map! Good crossover, only slightly disappointing.

* Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops: 6 of 10 Alright game play, fun commandig the soldiers but plot is not well explained.

*Naruto Rise of a Ninja: 8 of 10 Fun, beautiful, and addictive, deffinately a guilty pleawsure.

* Various DS games.

*Heavenly Sword: 9 of 10 How can this game be so awesomely violent but also so short. Best sad ending ever.

*Orange Box: 9.9 of 10 In order of the games where in; Good but so confusing of what happened between HL and HL2; Nice but short; Really Excellent but VERY Short; Best FPS ever but SOOOOOO short; and lastly Can't Find anyone to play with.

Ohhhh BTW Why are all 360 games so blastedly short.

Maybe I'll post something more interesting latter.

Vlog 6: A day in my life.

I promise, next time I'll show you what happened to my DS Phat.

This is just a thing to show you what I do kinda, the "high" points you know what i mean  :: grins::

omg failure to update

this is nuts, I like doing blog posts.  They are fun.  But I can't pull myself away from my games and m'wife to make one! So far I'm about 25 hours into Elder Scrolls 4.  I got a few more hours of play in on marvel ultimate Alliance, and let me say it looks so much better in 480p Wide than 480i standard, the difference is night and day.  On the portable front I've put about 7 hours into Dragon Quest Heros: Rocket Slime, thanks to my R4 I was having so much fun I thought I would buy it, but then I realised that after 7 hours I'm 70% done.   It is fun and all but I don't spend 35 dollars on a 10 hour game.  On the retro front I played about 4 hours of Gemfire (m'dads game, on m'snes)  It is a turn based strategy/war/empirebuiilding game from 1992 that was released on the NES, SNES and Genesis, I have  very fond memories of it from my childhood, and it is jus' as fun now as ever, even the tinny music is excellent.  I have material for a video blog but my conversion proggy is taking forever.  I hope to get sonme gemfire game footage cause it really is excellent.

Yippy

Well, I did it. I bit the bullet and bought a PS3. I picked up Oblivion. I'm sure I will like it. I am really looking forward to playing some of the PS3 gmaes that I have been missing. Hopefully I can find both of the Tales games, a couple of final fantasy games, and Circuit city is supposed to have Bully on sale for 20 bucks next week. I'm kind of excited to buy my first Blue Ray movie but I don't know what I want. I usually get a happy when I make a big purchase, but it didn't happen this time. I don't know what went wrong. I hope to post a video blog today or tomorrow.

One good thing is that the PS3 does seem to work except I can't get remote play set up with my PSP. It shouldn't be hard but It just doesn't want to work.

So this is the third week in a row that my "friend" said he would come over but didn't show up. He always complains about not liking go to this thing ever other Thursday, with a flock of other people, after work. Well this week he skipped work, but still bothered to get up and go out to this thing that he supossedly dislikes. We saw him out and it made my wife cry. I don't like it when my wife cries. She doesn't understand what is so horrible about us that he won't come over when he will get up and do something he has told us that he does not like. It's a good thing he called in tonight too.

I downloaded the resistance demo, and a couple of others. I will try them out when I get home today... I hope. You see right now I have been up for 31 hours excepting for an hour and a half nap. I had assemble a TV stand and re-hook up my TV, with the PS3. Woooooh go WiiS3. Pictures!!

Just a little gameplay and meta review

Donkey Konga 2, what can I say about this game.  Fun but hurtst my shoulders.  Requires a number or rounds or warmup.  Really hard to play on a small screen, because the timing is fairly sensitive.  Definitely more fun with multiple players.  I like most of the songs.

It is your standard rhythm game; hit your strangely shaped controller at the right time and you earn points.  From what I can tell all your songs are available from the start, but only at the lowest difficulty.  If you happen to own the original you can unlock all the  songs from that game too.  There is an endless mode that is kinda fun to just bop around in, and a number a few other modes, including some mini games that you have to "pay" to play.  But the main mode is the Street performer mode that lets you earn money to unlock alternate sounds schemes to use with the bongos, and harder versions of the song.

The major flaws of the game involve the sensitivity of the clap sensor, the fact that the drumline you are playing often is mismatched to the song, and that the sounds you are making can easily drown out the music on softer songs.

It comes down to the game being okay when you are alone, but becoming rather fun when playing with 2 players.

PS3 vd 306

sorry kinda long today

I have an empty hole in my heart, in my life. It comes from not having any 'real' IRL friends other than my ultra spiffy wife. This morning it felt like I had a hole in my chest so large that I could fit both fists inside.  And I typed this once as a form to therapy the GS spazzed and I am retyping it now.

I fill holes with things, it's what I do, it's what i do for fun wink wink, it's what i do for a living, and the things that I fill holes in myself with are toys: books, video games, tools that sort of thing. I have a shopping addiction. For a little while after I make a purchase I feel whole instead of hole. I just bought an HDTV but the happy from that is already gone, dried up like an open cbottle of ether. It's due mostly to all the stuff mentioned in my last blog, plus other stuff I could not bring myself to air it public.

Now which one looks like the better deal. Duhhh the PS3! But I wanna play Halo 3 and all sorts of games with my friends who all have 360s. What should I do what should I do to help fill the hurt and emptiness that permeates my existence? It is all so confusing...... Atleast I know one thing, Wii rules!

Ohh well I just bought Spectrobes today It is is like a bandage on an torn off arm but it will have to do for now. The game has a 100 pagish manual!

Peoples are lame

Why are people so lame, at work my supervisor made me feel wrorthless and I am just completely unmotivated now.  The rotten thing was on Sunday night I was throwing the freight as slow as I could and I was still throwing faster than everyone else there.  Not only that but this is the second week in a row that my "friend" has said he will come over and then just failed to show up.  This week my wife even talked to him half an hour before he was supposed to show up but nada. I even spent the whole day cleaning the house, well about 12 hours but still it felt like the whole day.  Of course at work there is just too much tension, a few people are trying to get a few other fired, half the people do alot more work than the other half, and my wife works the other half of the day from me.  I MISS MY WIFE.  I've been on this third shift for a year now and it has been virtually the worst of my life, no time with my SO, I'm exhausted all the time, and I have been sicker this year than any year ever before!

Ohh well on the gaming front I'm basically stuck on FF3 'cause I'm a few levels behind.  I haven't played any of my new Wii games but am enjoying the retro gaming, even though it all all hard as heck.  Kirby rocks.  I got some Wii component cables and just playing around on my new TV looks wonderful I hope I can play some new games tomorrow.  I think my Wii is outputting alot alot brighter than it should be...

Today I played Donkey Konga 2, for the first time, with my wife.  It was pretty fun but it made my shoulders hurt.  The songs were good, and fairly up to date.  My only complaint is that in some of the songs the rhythm I am banging on the bongos does not seem to match the music but ohh well; at least it's not all old rock songs.

I do not have a secret

Well between my extra 10% for one year of safety and a gift card I had my wife and I managed to buy an HD tv.  It's a 37 inch Polaroid LCD tv, I haven't have had a chance to play with it but it gets usually good reviews on the internet.  Except for one thing it has mediocre speakers, but I think I can fix that easy enough.  I have the base attached but haven't turned it on yet.
