Let's start with the funnies, saw this at the Windows Vista Display at Walmart.
So in case you can't quite tell that is a "spider", which is basically a reusable RFID tag, secured around the $40 software, but is strangely absent from the $160 operating system. Freaking Retards.
Earlier I did a review of the Switch and Carry Wiimote glove and had rather mixed reactions about it. Today bring you the Gamestop Wiimote glove review.
The GameStope Wiimote glove, is a soft rubbery skin that goes around your Wiimote, Plus comes with one for your Nunchuku. It provides slip resistance as it's main feature but also makes the controller softer and easier on your hands during extended play.
It comes in one of four colors (pink, blue, green, & something else), and is easy to install. It was priced at $10 at the time of my purchase.
Here is a picture comparing the Gamestop to the Switch and Carry. The Pink two tone model is the S&C brand while the Solid Blue is the Gamestop brand.
Pros:
+ Prevents Slipping
+ Adds comfort
+ Helps Differentiate Controllers
+ Easy to put on and take off
+ Priced at Only 10 dollars
+ Textured grip on rear
+ Includes Nunchuku glove
Cons:
-Smells really strange
- Hinders access to batteries
- Hinders access to (Home) Button
Compared to Switch and Carry Wiimote Glove:
++GSG includes Nunchuku glove
- GSG is thinner than S&CG so less padding
+GSG is thinner than S&CG so is easier to install and remove
+GSG is thinner than S&CG so it does not hinder acess to + and - buttons, also A button is easier to touch find than with the S&C
-GSG smells worse than S&CG
-GSG is only available and Gamestops, and EB/EB games
-SW&C has more colors
Overall:
While I had mixed feelings about he Switch and Carry brand Wiimote glove, I whole heartedly Recommend the Gamestop brand Wii controller glove set.

Cool things I did/got on the Long Long trip
by jro2020 on Comments
Just for my Own fun I'm putting down some Cool things I did on he the Long Long Trip mentioned below. I got Scourge Hive Mind, for 15 dollars, for a pair of DK bongos for 5, not I can play against my wife. Picked up a Gamestop Wii mote skin, Much better than Intec, bought Tales of Symphonia for My brother in law, A 15 year old kid obsessed with video games.
On he way there I saw a lot of little water falls on the way back they were all frozen.
I watched 2 and a half volumes of Family Guy, My Step Mother Is and Alien, and True Lies.
I got to Make a little progress In Tales of Eternia and FF3. I started Two Zelda Games, Elebits, And Marvel Ultimate Alliance, all of which kick butt after about 5 hours of play each.
Ohh and all the driving mentioned in the previous post was done by me, except for 6 hours during the 24 that makes up the actual there and back portions of the trip.

LONG LONG trip
by jro2020 on Comments
Ohhh my Lord, That was a long trip. Last Wednesday night at 8PM My wife and I left Idaho Falls heading for Kalamah Washington. Seven hundred and fifty miles, and Tweleve hours, and one timezone later we got there. I drove nine of those hours and managed to show up in Portland OR just in time for the morning commute.
Then we slept for a few hours and went to visit one of my wifes friends 20 miles up the road who had just had a baby then we did some shopping, hopped over to Oregon and bought some Everclear) and headed back to where we where staying.Lucky Lucky me I got to spend a few hours playing my Wii on a 60 inch TV. It was wonderful, Link was beautiful, Elebits were adorable, and trauma center was even grosser than normal.
Friday I got to play some more wii, then we went back to Kelso, Picked up My wifes half-brother for the night, and then went 50 mile back the other way to visit her mother in Vancouver. While I and her brother walked around the mall (I think I visited about 10 EB Games/EB/Gamestops on this trip). Suncoast was having a killer deal on Anime but unfortunately dind't have anything I reallllly wanted. Then back to Kalamah for dinner and gaming.
In the morning it was 20 to Kelso to drop off her brother, 50 to vancouver to visit her parents for lunch, and then her aunt. and then 30 miles back to Kalamah for bed.
Sunday we drove a hundred and 150 some odd miles up to Poulsbo to visit with my Aunt for three hours and then back to Kalamah. That night I got to play a few hours on tales of Eternia for the PSP.
Monday I got to spend a few more hours with my good friend the Wii, mostly playing Zelda A Link to the Past. Then because I'm an Idiot I decided I wanted to go to Portland and see a really big mall. We checked out Mall 205 which is completely dead, but had a nice little Asian place that does the food up fresh . Then We went to the Loyde Center which is a Three story mall but the third story is all professional offices and an Apollo College. We has some spiffy ice-cream there. Then up to Kelso and Rainer to visit another of My wifes relatives This time her Uncle and Cousin, We visited a few more of her cousins on the way back to Kalamah and then packed to head home.
Tuesday we got up a 4:30 am left at 5 stopped in Vancouver to say bye to her parents and then drove until 8 when we got the Dalles, stopped at a cool store there, and ate breakfast, Then it was 300 miles to Boise where we stopped at the TownSquare mall and had dinner, now THAT was Big Mall. Incidentally, the Spencer's Gifts there, is the most "Adult" oriented Sencer's that I've ever been in. They have stuff there that I can't even get at the local Lingerie and "marital aid" store!. In anycase we got back into IF by 10 stopped at my parents and were Home By eleven.
And that is why I am exhausted.

A blast to the past

Low and behold for I have drawn forth the one Zelda Game that I have never before owned from the forest of mists that is the Wii virtual Console and made a purchase of it.
Rejoice all ye Wii owners for the time has come to buy a copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. If the Big N would just roll out more of these SNES MegaHits I don't know how the Virtual Console service could possibly fail.
I'm so happy I finally get to play this game, again. I did once borrow it from a friend but this is the firt time I will have gotten to play it without some annoying time limit.
In other good news I recieved and email saying my order hs shipped, with luck I will busting open my DS Phat before I leave to got visit people in washington.
Update: Six days since they shipped the thing, still not here. Stupid USPS.

Spiff of the Day
by jro2020 on Comments
http://www.ElectricQuarter.com
Is the Website that has my spiff of the day.
So I was using Froogle to do a search for Tri-Wing Screwdrivers, because I am a nutcase and for some reason want to get inside my DS phat and do some modding. Hey I have a DS lite so why not right? So first on the list is some cell phone store that i've bought from in the past, but they want 8 bucks, then some MCM but they want $7.50 shipping. Finally I find the Electric Quarter a site catering to video games and the tools to play with them.
All I can really say is the prices are decent and the shipping is reasonable we will see if they actually deliver or if i just got scammed. It's its real here's what I will be getting.
A #000 Tri wing screwdriver
and
A set of bits for busting into carts, so I can finnally change that dead battery in my pokemon Cart.

Tired of MS' and Sony's heavy handed hatting
by jro2020 on Comments
I assume, as this is a gaming website that people on here are aware of the teeth gnashing that Sony and MS are doing at each other every time either one of them talks to the press.
For instance:
Sony says MS is lying about their sales figures (after their blatant load that all PS3s they ship have been sold and one one has any sitting around).
MS says they are disappointed that Sony released a year late because if they had release when MS did no one would buy a PS3 because everyone would know by now how inferior it is.
The mudslinging is so bad I'm nearly afraid to read about any new press conference or interview because I know it will turn into an all out trash-fest.
The part that kills me the most is to see how both companies handle the Big N, Bill himself has said they are the biggest threat to MS controlling the world (er I mean the video game industry); where as Sony either ignores their existence or insists that no one would ever buy a machine with such low Tech-specs, both of them really know how to turn me off buying their products.

last day of christmas rocked
by jro2020 on Comments
So I got trauma center and elebits for the wii the other day, along with rub rabbits for the DS. Excelllent happiness and I am loving playing retro games on my Wii. Yipyy Warios Woods.
Incitentally I got a OBD2 code reader, shirt, and self heating travel mug.. Ohh yeah and one of the coolest things ever A set of security bits! Tri-wings, security drilled hexs, drilled torx, and others gallore. Unfortunalelyt i still need a 00 tri-wing to get into my DS since the kit only comes with 1, 2, and 3. Still the Security torques down to T8 so I can open just about anything else. yippy

Only 3 more days of Christmas
by jro2020 on Comments
With Christmas almost over I can't help but be a little bummed. I work Epiphany, I've opened most of my presents, just a few more to go, soon I will have to take down and burn the tree for warmth, Plus the hassle of de-lighting the house and tree without breaking any ornaments.
On the plus side the PSP makes an excellent MP3 Player, decent video player, and death junior is a fun game even though it is so dark that you have to play it in the middle of the night on full brightness just to see anything. I saw that guy who owns 50 DS games, I want to out do him. Time to hunt some clearance I guess. I mean what I only need like 20 more thats only 600 dollars more at full price. Ouch, Ohh well I guess I'll leave the collecting to people Without a women to look after, like the Wesker. LOL. Peace out yall, see ya at work on thursday.

Sony "Traveler" PSP case review.
by jro2020 on Comments
Behold the glory of the PSP Traveler, an official case for your PSP that is actually worth the investment.
The case is made out of a clear polycarbonate with a black rubberish insert that holds your PSP securely. The case is entirely play through with the only reason to remove the system being to change the UMD. In fact this case is exactly like the Logitech Playgear Pocket but with extra features. Such as UMD, and Memory Stick storage.
Which of course makes it slightly thicker, a comparison shot of the Playgear and Traveler follows:
Both cost the same $20 dollars but here is a list of upgrades over the Play gear
-Built in Screen protector (also functions to prevent the PSP from falling out while open)
-UMD storage *2
-Memory stick Duo storage *2
-Pads on back to make in no skid
-Feet on edges to make it no skid when used as a video stand
-Better Latch
Pros:
+Virtually Indestructible
+Media storage
+Play through
+Doubles a stand for movies
+No skid
+Screen protection
+Easy to use
+Only $20 dollars
+shock resistant
Cons
-Takes a freaking huge system and makes it Even larger
-Holes not big enough for easy access to ports
-No hole for USB
-Case doesn't shut perfectly when using Sony Remote Control (it shuts but there is a gap where it forces it open a bit, not good that is puts pressure on the port)
-Does not include wrist strap (use an extra Wii one!)
-Dear god it costs $20 dollars!!! (if it weren't such a complete solution I would never buy it.
-UMD storage is a little loose.
Verdict: A Must have for all who own a PSP
Rant: Why the freak are PSP accessories so expensive!!! $25 for a set of headphones with a remote!, Twenty dollars for a Case, 20 for a headset with mike, 40 for and extra battery, and 30 for a charger for said extra battery!!!! Dear god what the heck is wrong with this picture.
Also what the freak is up with 30 dollar UMD movies, that I can buy the DVD for 15, and the DVD comes with special features! No wonder UMD failed it costs twice as much as a better media!
