The GC controller shouldn't be used as a sole controller for any Wii game, although I like the support for them in multiplayers such as MK and SSBB (mainly because I only have 3 Wiimotes, so with that option 4 can play!). But for most games I don't see any clear advantage of the GC controller vs. a Wiimote/Nunchuk. Most sports and racing games can use the motion controls well, shooters make use of the IR, SMG is a good example of how well the Wii controls can work for platformers. I don't see any clear advantage of using a GC controller... it would be nice as an option where appropriate, but I don't think that's really too often.

apparently GS hates tennis... VT is a great game, much more deserving than a 6! I like VT more than GST but even GST deserves higher than a 6. These games are revolutionary! GS tennis reviews = fail.

Definitely not buying another console -- but probably will get a black Wiimote, nunchuk, and CCPro if it comes out.

i wonder how could they implement WM+ on soccer games... i mean, not that it's really necessary, but soccer games are the only sports-based games i really care about, and i was wondering if WM+ could improve their gameplay in some way.

I have a love for soccer games also - the only implementations of M+ i can think of is for directing throw-ins, and maybe directing headers. directing passes and shots would be too difficult imo, and wouldn't be as effective as the IR passing/shooting in PES. I don't see M+ taking over a soccer game. Unless you want to strap the remote to your foot of course.

Very impressed -- although Virtua Tennis for me instead of GST -- but it is pretty amazing how well the controls work. Being able to place the ball simply by the way you stroke it is a much more satisfying experience than any sports game before it. The improvement in putting in TW alone proves how well the M+ works! As well as the disc golf mode, it's all very impressive. And these were just the launch games with M+, I can only imagine what developers will do after spending more time with the device, and am looking forward to see how well Nintendo themselves utilize it.

Not counting Wii Play.. Super Mario Galaxy -- got it as an early xmas present right before finals. NOT good timing, was addicted, and this was before I had my rechargeable batteries and I think I used up every battery in my apartment! Great game!

I think you need to send your friend back home to get it! As far as I know, there's no way to navigate the menu without a wii remote. If you have a GC controller that might work actually, you may be able to use the analog stick to navigate it (I'm not 100% sure) - but you still won't be able to use the microphone as that requires a wii remote.

The only advice I can give you is to get Virtua Tennis 2009 instead! I had the same problem with Grand Slam - try to hold it still during replays, but even then I still found it lost calibration sometimes and had the same problem as you where the player would prepare for a shot when I wasn't moving the remote. The game auto-detects the M+ so you don't have to enable it or anything. I switched over to VT2009 because I never got Grand Slam working too well for me... the motionplus isn't utilized well in that game IMO

[QUOTE="jukitup"]you can't download a game straight onto your SD card. Rocky32189
Yes, you can. When you download something off the Wii Shop Channel it asks you if you want to save it to the system or the SD card.

Ooh, sorry! I haven't actually tried, that's just what I heard -- thanks for correcting!

so to get this straight for the future... the Wii only supports 32GB cards? That's good news, but is there a certain brand they only support?

danger_ranger95
not ONLY 32GB.. but any SD/SDHC card UP TO 32 GB in size. Any brand should work fine. Even if you have a micro or mini SD card with an SD adaptor that works fine too. Another thing people get confused by... you can't download a game straight onto your SD card, but you can move it afterward -- and you have to have enough memory on your system for a game to play off the SD card because it actually copies it over to the wii and then runs it.
