@icestorm88 @BigBossWato If any company starts creating games for the competitor's platform, I'd bet on Nintendo going first.
In any case, if there are no exclusives, why would I even bother buying one or the other?

@hornspiller There are plenty of options... people just don't normally know about them. You're right in the Steam pricing; it's normally only worth it when there are offers, even then you should double check always.
Gog, Greenmangaming, indiegala, gamesrocket, gametap... etc, are all viable alternatives and are worth a check if only to ensure the best possible deal.

Let's be honest here. EA's practices are not ideal and that is something more or less acceptable in any company of any sector; however, falling on the same mistakes over and over again just makes everyone think that they are not really mistakes, and that EA is ready to piss off a percentage of its customer base in order to obtain more control.
Origin... he talks about 45 mill users... Me, i'm only there because Battlefield 3 is there and I have no option to play without origin; offers are generally uninteresting and you can commonly find a better bargain in almost any other online digital store.

And then there's Simcity... "We can't be any clearer: it's not. Period," he says. Can I play SP without internet? No. Can I do anything with the game without internet? No. Call it what you will, but in practice it is the same thing as DRM. It just seems really stupid to continue insisting on this point...

@riseagainst976 @kagento they priced it pretty steeply... it was around 550 Euros (before the euro even existed). Despite being microsoft, they were compelled to reduce the pricing down to 300 and compensate all those that had bought it during that month. That and the small/big controller thing with "japanese gamers have smaller hands"
