Does anyone know how to get rid of the ugly topic scroll bar at the bottom of the screen, its annoying as hell. Sorry for posting here, but seems like this topic has a lot of readers. I'm leaving GS if I can't get rid of that thing.
@gtx_780ti_sli: No I'm extremely materialistic, I like everything to be good looking, like my car, my house, my consoles, etc.
For me its not just about the performance, its also about the aesthetics. I spend a premium on many things including laptops based on R&D. I spend twice as much on Lenovo Thinkpads over regular Lenovo computers for one reason only, the black matte finish look.
For me everything must look as good as it functions. That's just me.
They really gotta stop turning everything into a TV Series, I know movies don't make much money anymore, most actually lose money, but not everything works in long form.
Creature thrillers don't work in long format, nobody wants to watch 13 hours of people running away from a giant snake or spend 13 hours figuring out who the killer was in Scream.
Its sad that many actors can't make a living in films anymore, but making everything 13 hours long is not the answer.
Long form is huge investment for audiences, and most people don't have 13 hours to waste on a season of a story that can be told in 2hours.
Not getting an XB1 until the smaller better looking lite version comes out. Its too bulky, almost feels like beta-version of a console or a test developer unit. I'll be the first to pickup a XB1 Slim.
Just cause I don't think a game is a 9 doesn't mean I hate it, where in my reply did you read the word "hate", that coming out of your ass not mine.
I found Tomb Raiders 2 to be mediocre, Bloodborne also mediocre, I don't hate any of those games otherwise I certainly wouldn't waste my time craft pickaxes out of animal hide. I simply find all those games mediocre and not masterpieces as GS claims.
You're the only one spreading hate here, not me, I just said they are not 9 games. You said hate. And just cause I find a game mediocre I haven't played them? Great logic fanboy.
And where in the trailer for Tomb Raider does it show you crafting pickaxe upgrades from animal hide???
Tomb Raider is exactly the same as the last one, right down to crafting the same crappy pickaxe with random crap you find, and the same gun that I crafted from the last Tomb Raider, guess what I gotta craft it again, and that icy mountain I climbed last Tomb Raider, guess what its here again. Rise of the Tomb Raider is exactly the same as the last Tomb Raider game, and that deserves a 9/10 score.
Also, Bloodborne play exactly like Dark Souls minus the death penalty, that stupid giant dog boss I fought guess what I fought that same boss twice Dark Souls 2, and Dark Souls 1, and Demon Souls. So put a funny hat on Dark Souls and you get another 9/10 game???
And Fallout 4, let me see its exactly the same as Fallout 3.
Do I need to keep repeating myself?
And thanks for being so classy as to call me stupid for something like this, shows how classy gamers have become.
@Undertow207: If you guys think all AAA games deserve a 9/10, great, but not me. I think you need something really special to get that kind of a score.
If everything is 8-9-10 score then you might as well just say that all AAA games are epic and not even bother with reviews.
Bottom line I only read Indies reviews now, since they are the only critics left with any integrity since they don't make $$$ off of AAA advertising dollars.
When every game is EPIC then nothing is epic, choose sparingly what you call epic. If gaming critics were like film critics, then you'd think that every single movie is The Godfather. Its retarded,
PEOPLE There are FOUR (4) 9/10 games in the same week.
Tomb Raider 9/10
Fallout 4 9/10
Bloodborne 9/10
Undertale 9/10
Does no one find that to be retarded? That's like 4 movies in the same caliber as The Godfather coming out in the same week.
You people are telling me that gaming industry is turning out 4 Godfather level video games every single week?!?!?!?!?!?
Wake up, no industry other than gaming can claim to have 4 masterpieces come out every single week. These critics are rigged, no industry in any media sector has as many so called masterpieces as gaming.
Go watch films and see how many so called Oscar level movies come out each week, you'd be hard pressed to find 4 9/10 movies come in one year, but gaming supposedly has them coming weekly.
Tell me Tomb Raider didn't feel exactly the same as the last Tomb Raider, and that Fallout 4 ain't like the last Fallout or that Bloodborne isn't just Dark Souls with a funny Hat and a scarecrow outfit.
When Dark Souls first came out it was a 9/10 game, so was the last Tomb Raider game, because they pushed the genre into a new frontier, but since then its been rehashes.
You shouldn't give rehashes a 9/10 score, because it diminishes what 9/10 stands for.
The only review that came close to hitting its mark this year was maybe the The Witcher 3, even then I thought it was a 9 tops.
And MGS V 10/10 are you kidding me.
Big mainstream Game review sites like GS are becoming a joke there is no integrity in it anymore, they are there to promote AAA game sales, if you want real reviews you need to look at small Indies review sites.
People always forget that PS3 was Sony's Trojan horse to win the next gen disc medium wars against Toshiba and MS's HD DVD. Sony lost 300 per PS3, but in turn defeated HD DVD to win royalty fees on BluRay forever.
PS3 was a loss leader, for Sony's bigger cash cow the disc media royalty fees. Every BluRay disc ever pressed and every BluRay drive ever built = profit for Sony's bottomline, including the Bluray drive in the Xbox One.
Licensing fees is big business, if you own the rights to an ubiquitous media that everyone uses you own free money for life.
In my opinion all of the above games were mediocre at best, not EPIC as they claim.
Bloodborne is the same as every soul game ever made.
Fallout 4 is the same as every Fallout game ever made.
Tomb Raider is exactly the same as the last tomb raider to the point where I felt like I was playing the same game.
Need for Speed is a decent racer that's it.
Halo 5 is a decent FPS.
Looking at GS ratings you'd think that every AAA game releases is EPIC and must play, when in fact almost all of them are the same thing with higher textures.
Just think you need to reserve your high ratings and use them sparingly.
