@Fia1: True you cannot achieve The Orders polygon density in an open world game.

Sad, really we are still a long way from that golden grail 100 percent photorealistic.

Sadder thing is a lot of gamers think that higher resolution = better graphics. 4K doesn't increase polygon density, it simply makes the fake looking graphics look sharper.

I guess not enough people own 4K machines to know better.

I recently played FIFA 16 in 4K for the first time, and sadly it simply makes the soccer players look that much more plastic, but it did add about a million more grass shoots onto the field. LOL

@Redgarl: Are you serious?

This picture looks like a real person to you? Are you blind, that looks like a very high resolution image of a GIJOE Figurine wearing a really bad wig.

Look The Witcher 3 is a great game, but the graphics look fake. end of story.

@ewjiml: So, sad, cause I'm a huge graphics whore. I literally spend like hours just walking around in The Order just looking at stuff, cause I was so mesmerized.

Its like the opening, I swear I thought it was a CGI cutscene, but when I could control it, I almost shat myself.

Why can't we have more graphics like that, I don't mind the lack of substance. ;(

@ewjiml: I got a 4K TV, I know what 4K video native look like. I didn't say that 4K is lackluster just the games are lackluster. I love 4K videos.

As for The Order, I never said the game was good, read my comment, I said it looks photorealistic, of course The Witcher 3 is a better game. But The Witcher 3 looks like a game, The Order looks like a real live action movie.

Who cares if its in wide screen format or it has grain and motion blur effect, or that the game sucks, doesn't change the fact that The Order looks like a live action movie. No other game has done that to this day.

You're arguing apples to oranges here. I'm talking about which game looks more like reality, and between the two games, The Order looks more like real life. That's it. Witcher great game, but still looks like a game.

@Redgarl: 4K makes things sharp, I know I have a 4K TV and I have a 4K PC gaming rig worth over 2 grand.

But 4K does not make something that doesn't look like real life, suddenly look like real life.

You telling me that you think that screenshot looks like a real person? You got problems if you do. I've played The Witcher 3 in 4K, and I've played The Order in 800p, and I can tell you for a fact The Witcher 3 still looks like a video game, and The Order looks like a live action movie.

4K doesn't make something look more realistic, it just makes things sharper. That's it. Game is still gonna look fake, but just sharper fake.

@tr4newreck: Got a 2500 dollar PC just to play 4K.

Hexacore 6800k, 32gb ram, 1TB SSD, Dual Sli GTX 1070, that's what I'm running. No shit I know what 4K is.

I've actually played Witcher 3 in 4K, so I'd know.

Higher resolution don't make the game look more like live action. It just makes the game sharper.

The Order although at 800p, looks exactly like live action movie, there is no perceivable difference from The Order and a Hollywood movie.

There is a difference between photorealistic and super duper sharp. Something doesn't need to be super sharp to look like a movie, in fact even feature films don't look that sharp since most are shot in 35mm film, which is inherently grained.

So, no. The Witcher 3 looks great, and looks very sharp at 4K, but does not look like live action movie. Still looks like a game. The Order at least me looks exactly like a movie even though its not nearly as sharp as The Witcher.

@iandizion713: Yeah that game spoiled us. They had near unlimited budget, and near unlimited resources to make that game. It was the game that was supposed to show the world what the PS4 can do.

We will probably never see anything like it ever again. Sad.

@iandizion713: Yeah I played it Tomb Raider, it was pretty sick. But still didn't look like real life. The only game that literally had me was The Order. I could not tell it from a movie. I've never since had that wow effect again.

I think because The Order has closed off locations, they were able to make the game super detailed and super polygon dense.

I was literally walking around some empty scaffolding and watching the sun set across the horizon at one point in the game because it looked so real. I just walked around and looked around and it was fun.

Honestly all the games this gen has disappointed me graphics wise. Even Witcher 3 at 4K was lackluster.

The ONLY game this gen that was truly revolutionary was The Order 1886.

Say what you will of that game, but the graphics are identical to a theatrical movie, its the only game to have been able to achieve true photorealism to this day.

@UnrealPro: Wow that's cheap. My biggest cost was the Dual 1070 GTX, and the X99 mobo and 6800k, and the 1TB SSD.

I was planning on getting the GTX 1080, but I wanted consistent 4K at 60fps, and from looking at all the reviews, looks like the only way to achieve that was with SLI.
