No country without Capitalist agendas can ever work, but fully Capitalist leads to what you saw in the States with the Wall Street bailout crisis. It's inevitably an hybrid.

In this case, Hello Games is playing the full Capitalist card, in that they want it all, and they'll **** over anyone who doesn't play ball, sadly its not gonna fly. They'll be forced to share those lofty profits.

@Furwings: How about this. When you use someone elses hardwork as a basis for your own money making game, you make an offer to the owner of the formula from DAY ONE on profit sharing.

Did these einsteins really believe that someone smart enough to come up with this formula would simply sit idly by and watch others profit from it without saying a single thing?

@Furwings: Pretty sure they tried to contact Hello Games before, but got no response, its only now that they are threatening a lawsuit. They couldn't sue when the game wasn't finished.

@nbf4548: Programmers deal with numbers and probabilties all day long. We're not talking about a bunch of guys who paint for a living, these are computer programmers who work with complex equations all day long.

So, really, they should have known that they were gonna have to cut the formula creator in at some point in time.

I think this was a deliberate attempt at trying to pull a fast one by Hello Games. They thought they were dealing with some nerd, who didn't know better. They were wrong.

This could have been handled so much better. From day one, they could have easily negotiated a backend deal, say 5 points on net to the patent holder. But they opted to try to pull a fast one.
