@kabloe: The game is not held back by those decisions. Give me an example of a PS5 game that uses dynamic lighting in an open world and renders 4k 60. The closest thing is Miles Morales which does not have a dynamic lighting system. Time of day is fixed so you can bake in lighting. There is literally nothing on the PS5 or even first party PS4 that is using a dynamic lighting system in an open world that I can think of. If you want to compare something to Sonys linear story driven games then wait for Hellblade 2 .

@hardwenzen: Yeah compared to all those 4k 60fps open world FPS's with dynamic lighting that Sony has right? Oh no they have 0 of those. Fanboys are ridiculous. I love my PS5 but trying to compare a linear story driven game that uses baked lighting to an open world fps that uses dynamic lighting is freaking stupid

@Spartan_418: But something like Halo being set in an outdoor environment it wont benefit from RT reflections as it will RT global illumination. And Global Illumination is going to be harder to implement with less benefit. I really like Miles Morales implementation especially in perf mode. The reflections are great they just dont Wow me like RT in Minecraft. Miles also you can set time of day but its not dynamic. I know the 343 team want that feature but it presents all sorts of issues especially if you are trying to implement it for GI. My guess is it will come later be for reflections and shadows only and still cost a 15 to 20 % hit to framerate or resolution. Which for me ...meh. As long as it plays like the MP test I am fine. I just see so many people here saying oh what a mess Halo is because RT isnt present at launch with absolutely no idea what that means for development.

Lots of complaints here but honestly what do you guys expect from these people. They had to go back thru the entire game and change textures/materials for like every asset due to the poor reception last year. Then rumor is they reworked campaign so that it isn't just a list of areas to clear and then move to next area. There is a dev reddit post about this. RT is a feature that honestly doesnt add a lot having played Miles Morales , The Medium etc I am so far not impressed. The only game where RT really blows me away is Minecraft. Where it completely changes the look of that game. For games with modern lighting systems its mainly used for more accurate puddle reflections. If the game is as fun as the MP test then I will be just fine waiting for RT.

@PrpleTrtleBuBum: If you only buy 1 or 2 a year like you say then GP isnt for you anyway. But for me I have played Outriders, Flight Sim , Psychonauts , The Ascent , Back 4 Blood , and Marvel Avengers...with Forza and Halo coming. Those alone have easily payed for my subscription. And I had a lot of fun with all of those.

@kabloe: I'll answer you here too...go look at any list of top MetaCritic Gamepass games. Tell me how many of the top 145 games are 360 era. There are none in the top 20.
