@phili878: The MP was amazing in my opinion...Halo 5 didnt run at 120 in MP either with 24 players in BTB. So Halo 5 gets 16 ms to render a frame and Infinite get 8 and it has to deal with more effects , players etc. On top of that I would say Fragmentation and Behemoth are amazing looking maps . Halo 5 everyone looked like a power ranger. I will take the look of Infinite any day over 5.
@xnshd: You said surpassing Halo MP wasnt a big accomplishment, in my opinion Infinites MP is the best in Halo and Halo 2 was the best on every console at the time. Infinite is very very good in my opinion. You are entitled to your opinion but I would say you are wrong. Apex, Warzone , Fortnite Pubg all battle royals and noone is really doing arena besides Splitgate a Halo clone. COD looks awful this year and its 70 bucks, BF 2042 somehow looks even worse...also 70 bucks. Halo Infinite is free releases on PC same day and is in a better state than both. I expect Halo to do very well this year and if they continually add stuff with each season I expect it to do well for a long time.
@xnshd: I think it is. Halo 2 was THE fps shooter of its generation. There was literally nothing like it on any console anywhere. Halo 2 defined everything even modern shooters do , lobbies , parties that stay together from game to game, kill medals for streaks etc . Every fps in existence is just expanding on what Halo 2 did almost 20 years ago. Halo 3 was even better. I would argue that after 3 that things started to go downhill. I wasnt a fan of Reach's multiplayer or 4 or 5. But I am a huge fan of what I have played of Infinite. And as I said most of the people I have seen talking about Infinite are very pleased.
I was wondering how they were going to handle this....I would prefer that Ultimate subs just get the BattlePass. That would be how I would handle this and it would definitely drive up subscriber numbers.
@xnshd: Seems you are pretty alone on that assessment. You may not have like it but it seems a whole lot of people including myself think its probably the best Halo MP ever.
Concentrating on a DirectX API for VR is exactly what they should be doing. DirectX standardized the shader and rendering pipelines and until we have a standard API that can be used for VR , VR will be hard to develop for and the returns are not that great to begin with.Keep improving the API and wait for the hardware to improve , then you can either add compatibility to an existing headset or develop your own. However I am with Phil on this one. I do not want to sit on my couch and wear a huge headset while playing a game. Its just not how I prefer to experience any game really. The tech needs to shrink some more maybe even disappear completely...wirelessly transmitted frames to a very small device maybe. Actually I was more excited for HoloLens since I could still see my surroundings and super-impose images on top of that. The minecraft demo for Hololens was way more exciting to me personally than anything I have experienced in VR. But even that I think will continue to be very niche
I love Horizon even tho I do not like racing games...but I can't help but to think that what this really means is the development of Fable is about to get some more resources.
I feel a little bad for Sony. Paying for exclusivity for anything related to Vanguard. Its COD and it will sell well but I would put money on it being one of the worst rated/selling COD games. I think Xbox players will be fine with this given...ya know ...Halo.
@mcnichoj: At 450k Series S/X will also easily outpace that as well. They had a lot of Japanese style games in the 360 era....Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon , Tales as you mention , There was also the very terrible Enchanted Arms.
