@swansong1030: The One S provided a few more frames at 900p while the Pro provided resolution jumps between 1440p and native 2160p... I can see the confusion. :/
They also had a USB Streaming stick that went into production then got canned with their TV shows and other things they abandoned do to poor console sales and negative feedback.
Well... Microsoft panicked when word of the PlayStation "NEO" started circulating well over a year ago but that didn't stop the talking heads over at Microsoft from coming up with reasons other than they didn't want to be left behind. Then they had a game plan to try and steal the thunder from the official "Pro" announcement with their greatest pixels ever nonsense. Besides all that, the PS4 Pro as great as it is, is only a true mid generation refresh as advertised. While Microsoft claims the same thing about the Scorpio it's in fact a full new hardware generation that just happens to support the games already out there and has the same family of architecture. The difference between the One from the 360 was closer in hardware cosmetics than it was genuine gaming performance. The difference between the Scorpio and the One is so drastic that you would be more likely to compare the One to the Wii U or Switch than a serious current gen console. I applaud Microsoft for the Scorpio. I don't need excuses or their lies in why they decided to make it, they are just making it and that's all that matters. It will be a joy to game on for those getting it.
I may even revisit some online gaming now that I can use a gamepad AND have a 4K experience at the same time without the keyboard/mouse kids out there kicking my ass.
They failed so amazingly hard with the Xbox One that they are constantly over compensating. It's not a bad thing. In the long run it looks like the disastrous Xbox One sparked fear in Microsoft that they can't just be complacent and cocky with gamers anymore. They want our money and are working for it. But be mindful little ones, backup your computer with a restore point or clone it off somewhere, you never know what other things will suddenly break.
By the time they get a game on sale for the platform everyone will be harping on about how much better the Scorpio is. Gamers are never happy and devs never have good timing.
