@rancid36: Sony is driving the boat, what stupid nonsense are you babbling about. The Scorpio is a DIRECT response to Sony's PS4 Pro. As was every console Microsoft ever made including their IP's. All responses to Sony products and first party titles. Do the research.
Still a garbage player since it won't support HD audio formats. What good is supporting the highest quality video options and only passing the lowest quality, lossy audio formats. It's only has half worth.
Hard drive failure rates and heat are still worse than any current SSD so ditching spinning disks is still best no matter what kind of life you want to squeeze out of them. Ok, there's capacity to consider but unless you are running either a NAS or a Surveillance System, SSD is the best way to go and easier to add more to your case as you need them because of their small size.
@talentmars: I think anyone with any common sense knows that the Scorpio will not be a true native 4K console. It will upscale really high dynamic resolutions to accommodate the graphical objective. If anything gets sacrificed it will assuredly be the resolution first and then the framerates from 60 to 30. You can relax now.
@fedor: It's going to upscale like the PS4 Pro already does. It's been stated by the Xbox camp already, they just call it something other checkerboard. Fact is, the games will likely render at some weird resolution (equal to or greater than 1800p) but still be higher than many of the PS4 Pro enhanced resolutions providing a visual improvement. I don't need native 4k, I just need it to be clear and artifact free.
@talentmars: lol... quality is just a buzzword to you. silly person. So what if the hardware has to be better to keep up, it's better for everyone. Don't drag down everyone's experience because you don't know what you're talking about and just confuse all this mysterious banter as buzzwords. If you don't understand or have any experience or point of reference, then just move on.
@Legend_of_Link: I'm guessing an onslaught of existing catalog titles all remastered in shiny new 4k. Which isn't the worse thing they could do at a product launch. It would get me to revisit a few things.
@akassassin11: I was extremely skeptical about that too since the Xbox One was so poor and "upscaling" 720p to 1080p until I witnessed it on the PS4 Pro first hand. I'm actually pleased with it and now have no issues with console graphics, not like I use to, as long as it's PS4 Pro enhanced exclusives.
@Rufus_the_rat: They just stopped producing the PS3, I doubt they will move quickly to stop making a console only a few years old. However, there is a rumor Sony plans to announce the PS5 to steal the Scorpio thunder as payback for the Scorpio announcement when the Pro was announced.
