The X patch wasn't the leap in visual fidelity over the existing PS4 Pro version I was expecting. It's very good, but not amazing. The game still has the same annoying visual anomalies that the Pro version had prior to this patch but slightly less pronounced. I also doubt it's actual native 2160p. The visuals are not "clean" like how most true native 4k presentations look. The HDR is nice though. I'm expecting all this to get hashed out by Digital Foundry any day now. Too much shimmering and low quality anti aliasing to ever have the wow factor most other X Enhanced titles have. Up until now, the Xbox One X games have been so well done I was rarely removed from the experience by the graphics not being up to par. Of course, this is Bungie's game engine and their method of optimization. I'm an elitist snob with the best gear so your experience will vary.
This is one of the few rare cases where the PC version has a huge lead over the X version visually, frame counts being another discussion.
Where's the law where you're only allowed to sell a completed, fully working game for $60. Clearly, no one remembers those days. I'd like to see laws against selling digital content you have no rights over but society is still too stupid for that
I hope they're even more aggressive with the X support on those 360 titles. It's like playing those old games on PC. You're limited to the textures and polygon counts of the time but maxing out the display resolution is incredible when comparing the original version. This can be as good as Steam if they do it right.
The X also has native 1440p Freesync output that is downsampled from 4k not upsampled from 1080p. That's a huge deal and a first for gaming consoles. The X actually has a lot of firsts. All narrow minded fanboys see is the lack of genuine exclusives. It's true but it doesn't define a remarkably satisfying piece of hardware. I won't turn my Pro on till maybe around March or April when God of War releases. Exclusives are only good when they get released and they are few and far between. The X is the next best thing to a gaming PC anyone on a budget could ever ask for. I haven't used my gaming PC or PS4 Pro since November 7th and haven't had a single need to. Remember kids, being a fan of the best doesn't automatically make you a fanboy. I loved the Pro but a new lady is in town.
