I feel better about xbox with phil in charge. Gaming needs manchildren running things and not soulless corporate executives that only listen to sports radio and have their bonuses already planned out.
I already bought the full game digitally and will wait to see it for the first time on Xbox One X even though I already have a gaming PC. November 7th seems like an eternity.
Damn, that looks good for a console. Xbox One X is the first positive piece of gear from Microsoft in ages. Can't wait to get my Scorpio. Will match my Scorpion tattoos!
For sake of argument, and you know you will... Sony does agree to cross-play. Here's a brief timeline before getting to the point. Xbox was the dominant console for the better part of the 2000's and slightly beyond. I hope everyone knows by know that Sony did already approach Microsoft about cross-play during that time. Unlike many of you, I was old enough to clearly remember the events or at least was still paying attention to the industry even back then and the arrogance demonstrated by Microsoft. They refused to integrate Sony's bluray drive into the Elite 360 as part of their defiance at the time as well. Instead, opting for that ridiculous external USB HD-DVD unit that failed harder than Zune. Microsoft had all the exclusive deals with 3rd party's, all the timed exclusivity you could ever dream of while stiffing Sony left and right on every major AAA release. After the launch of Xbox One both Microsoft and EA reps went on record as stating arrogance and cockiness from the success of the 360 led them to assume they could do whatever they wanted to the consumer base and they would eat it up no matter what. Well... they didn't.
Fast forward a bit. Microsoft buys Minecraft, a game that saw the most success on PlayStation. Microsoft buys Titanfall, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive and a years exclusivity on Tomb Raider, a game that originated on PlayStation (Sega and Dos but neither exist today) and none being genuine, in-house developed Microsoft Studios games, sending a clear message they will use their money if they can't earn everyone's love. All while canceling their very own games. More screws to Sony despite the overwhelming success of the PS4 and Microsoft's insistence on not playing nice. None of those ploys worked to improve the Xbox One's reputation or sales numbers.
Now what's left? The exclusivity deals fall in Sony's lap because that's where gamers are playing and leaving the Xbox behind. What's this? Microsoft shouts. We are loosing exclusive 3rd party deals, there are no more games or studios to buy since they actually want to sell the games they make on PS4. So what do we do? Let's turn the tables on Sony and pull a Trump where we act like the good guy and pretend the past never happened. On top of that, since timed exclusive deals with in game assets and DLC will not work on the Xbox Live versions because of the exclusive deals, now is a good time to claim Sony is the bad guy in all this. We won't mention the logistical nightmares associated with PS4 gamers having early access to certain digital assets you can't use on the Xbox platform yet, we'll just simply say our doors are wide open and Sony are being difficult. Now that we no longer have these exclusives anymore we can also claim we don't believe in timed exclusives too.
No one can ever compete with Kiss' 2000 game Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child. But the author can only think back on things that existed when they were alive.
