Apples to Apples

Just to show the price different between i5 and i7 920.

i5 750/UD4P Combo saves you $15 and this RAM(LINK)is $459.97.

i7 920/EVGA 121-BL-E756-TR X58 mATX(LINK) Combo and ^RAM^ is $569.97.

Price difference of $110.

I went with the UD4P and that EVGA board because they both have 2 PCI-E slots. The UD4P is the MINIMUM for SLI and CFX setups, though the UD4P does not come with a CFX Bridge.

Apples to Oranges

Same i5 750 setup as before. $459.97

AMD Phenom II X4 955, ASUS EVO 790X(LINK) and same RAM as in the i5 rig. $403.98

AMD Phenom II X4 965, ASUS EVO 790X and same RAM as in the i5 rig. $463.98

All pricing from Newegg.

EVGA's P55 MotherBoard line up... all SEVEN of them.

http://s205.photobucket.com/albums/b...se/evgap55.jpg

Pricing ranges from $169.99 to $349.99 on EVGA's Website(6 of 7 Boards, one not listed)

Well it looks like my previous predictions have come true, its a beast and offers the best price/performance & the best performance/watt ratio compared to the i7 AND the Phenom II X4's. It overclock to 4.2Ghz on air and clock for clock performance better than the PII X4's...i think once the price of motherboards drops a bit they are the best choice for new buyers!

Unless all of the computer are Gigabit capable, no need for a gigabit router. I know the switch I suggested supports Gigabit, but I didn't suggest it because of it. It's the best rated 8 port switch on Newegg that is un-managed.

He is not getting any where close to a gaming laptop for $600. Your looking at close to $700-$900 for a, sense of the word, gaming laptop

2 x 4 ports are only going to give you 7 ports. You could do 3 x 4 port routers though and have 10 ports.

Reason you'll only get 7 ports is because one router will have to connect to the other. One end of the cat cable will come from one of the LAN ports and the other end will go to the WAN port.

This is what it would look like.

Blue is ethernet cables to PCs.

You could also just pick up a 8 port switch and not have to worry about router configuration if your just going to do LAN play.

A game capable of LAN connectivity.

An 8 port router or switch.

Multiple Outlets each on their own circuit breaker. No more then three PCs should be on the same circuit breaker. If you have more then three you risk tripping the breaker. A US based circuit breaker is meant for around 1500w of power draw, can supply more depending on the breaker's amperage though.

A long, foldable table or two with chairs and stuff.

As long as you got a fast enough Internet connectionand a router, you'll be alright. Also, get your AC on 'cause it'll get hot; and get chips or something.

He said LAN, usually means all you'll be doing is playing games that are LAN based, meaning no need for internet connection.

Having one card doing just graphics and one doing just physics, will perform better than one card trying to do graphics and physics at the same time.

Of course, if you have another PCI-E 16x slot, you can get a cheap card like a 9600GSO or something, and use that solely as a PhysX card. But if I recall correctly, the AGEIA PhysX cards were standard PCI, which would be suitable for people with no available PCI-E 16x slots.

broken_bass_bin

They also made PCI-E 1x PhysX cards because most boards now a days have one to two PCI-E 1x slots as well as a couple PCI-E 16x slots.

Well I hate steam, so i thought i would turn to this community before i email the valve guys. I was wondering if there is anyway to delete a steam account and all the junk associated with it (Ie. Games downloads...etc). The thing is I bought Orange box when it came out and installed it with an old steam account that i don't use any more. Recently I made a new account and of course when i tried to install orange box again it said the CD KEY was in use by another account. I heard that it costs 10 bucks to have valve transfer it. I want to know if there is another way to delete the account and the stuff its linked to, without having to break into Valve's HQ and bust up some servers lol.

Thanks for any help!

MERGING ACCOUNTS

Unfortunately, Steam accounts can not be merged together.

Per theSteam Subscriber Agreement, Steam game subscriptions / CD keys are nontransferable and cannot be reset / moved between Steam accounts.

.

This is to prevent games from being transfered from a stolen/hacked account to a different account. I believe it also used to curb people from thinking they can cheat on VAC secured games and move the CD-key to a different account.
