Agreed. I own BG1 and 2 and planescape torment. Never got around to finishing them hopefulyl someday. On a side not did you like the fallout games? I played and beat both a while ago, they should make more games like that as well.

However it just seems games like that don't make that much money campared to the Halo, and the WOW. I did find one game being made currently in the post apocacylptic setting like fallout. It's called Afterfall. I read the whole site. Has a lot of history into the world, with different zones, different cultures in game.

I highly suggest any fallout fan check it out. The developers need a publisher currently and so far they've been working on the game for about a year and a half. I think I'm gonna donate some money for them, the game looks that promising.

I don't know if anyone heard of this before but I stumbled accross it. A game called Afterfall. After reading the FAQ it looks like to be a spiritual successor to the fallout series

http://afterfall.pl/index/en/36

There seems to be some good features implemented into the game. For example, items can have characteristics, like identifible features. That is if you steal and item and then try to sell it to the owner, he'll be violent. Other features mentioned are realistc turnbased battles, eat to survive system, cyborg implants, cool skills (like computer skills to enhance implants).

Check it out.

Let me know what some true fallout fans think.

HEY GUYS I JUST SAW THE TRAILER OF FALLOUT3,,,,IT LOOKS MORE ATTRACTIVE,,,...a whole new washington DC

A cover story in the magazine Game Informer revealed that:

  • The game can use both first-person and third-person perspective.
  • Main character creation is implemented by specifying the character's childhood. The character's mother dies in labor in a Vault hospital, after which the player chooses the character's Traits and general appearance during the father's DNA analysis. Afterwards, the father removes his surgeon's mask to reveal a face much like the one chosen by the player for the character.
  • As a child in the Vault, the character receives a book titled "you are special" whereupon you'll set the character's 7 primary aptitudes. The character receives training weapons and a PIP-boy during childhood, and the player's performance in various tests determines the rest of the attributes. Additionally, there will be quests inside the Vault that influence the pc's relationship with his or her father.
  • Skills and Perks are similar to those in previous games: the player chooses 3 Tag Skills out of 14 to be the character's specialties, and the character will gain a Perk every other level. 4 skills have been cut out from the game (Fallout and Fallout 2 had 18 skills) but it is unknown what skills have been cut off.
  • Max level will be 20.
  • There will be a definite end to the game, with many possible endings based on good/evil/neutral events you trigger.
  • The Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System, or V.A.T.S. will be implemented. Various actions cost action points, and both the player and enemies can target specific body areas for attacks, inflicting specific injuries. While using V.A.T.S., real-time combat is paused creating a combat system that the Bethesda developers have described as a hybrid between turn-based and real-time combat.
  • The game will maintain the same level of gore. While using V.A.T.S., the gory deaths in the game will be shown in slow motion. One of the featured screenshots is of a super-mutant's head exploding in great detail.
  • The game will feature a new health and radiation system. The player can measure an object's radioactivity and gauge the effect it will have on the character.
i wanna ask is it a must buy title for pc?? i am a rpg fan!

Chances are, they game will be good. It'll probably have good graphics and fairly in depth gameplay, not nearly as deep as say the first 2 fallouts. Wether it will be great, we're just gonna have to wait and see.

Myself I have been a fallout fan since the first one. I was devastated hearing that Bethesda was making the game, considering how they changed the Elder Scrolls series into something more dumbed down. Many hardcore fallout fans have already given up on this game, prejudging it to be an epic failure. Fallout fans are crazy, I know I am one. Comming to the realisation that FALLOUT 3 will not be like it's predicesors, not only in terms of gameplay but mostly depth, I have decided I will give the game a try with as much openmindedness as I can muster.

Still I'm weary hearing all the 'new' features Bethesda is sporting about, like how your father's character will look similar the the character you made. Rember the 'aging' slide bar in the character creation in Oblivion? Yeah...

I just got this new card and installed it today along with a 550 watt power supply. I'm not seeing a huge difference in gaming from my old X1600 pro. I think I have either installed it improperly or mismanaged my new power supply.

AMD athlon Duo Core 3800

2 Gigs of RAM

When I first installed the card my computer read a message that the card wasn't plugged into the power. I Found a 6 pronged hook up from the new pwr supply and attached that. Then the comp worked and I installed all the newest drivers. But I'm only getting like 30-45 fps on CSS on all high settings with a res of 1024 X 768. Is this normal? My last card was a X1600pro and I got 75+ on mediums at the same resolution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't want to see any PS3 or 360 game onto the PC no matter how good. I would really like some old NES game to be redone in a whole new way. Lets say Mega Man 1 through 3 in a FPS.

Ha, targeted groin shots. Slight *SPOILER* ahead.

I remember in the first fallout trying to save Tami (that her name? girl from shady sands) from the raiders. I had a smart enough character to outsmart the raider leader but I always saved the game and challenged him in a one on one. The whole fight was my character punching for his groin, till I caused a critical hit which he would drop to the ground saying "Ah my groin!" and then punching his eyes out on the ground, till he yelled out "I'm blind! I'll kill you you muther^&%*" or something along those lines.

Great game.

I was looking for the mod where you install baldurs gate one and two and it sequences them with into one big story. Anyone know which one I'm talking about I can't seem to find it on the net.
