@AJMXYZ @l777l Sexual tension (which is entangled with emotional tension of various elements) is very human. It adds to Cortana's humanity. I haven't paid as much attention on John's reactions to it, that part of her. His 'sexual' reactions to her are very subdued. The silent sexual tones give their relationship more potency. I wouldn't want to miss that.

I did not find that line of hers ridiculous. The physical element, human touch, is exactly what Cortana does not have. John has it. Not that he makes full use of it.

@russelloh @HornedKing Feminism is said to be a movement of and for equality. Its focus on women can only be justified if women are dramatically disadvantaged compared to men. If this assumption of disadvantage does not hold, then feminism wrongfully discriminates by focusing on women. Simply: it does not hold. Thus, in reality, feminism is not actually about equality.

This doesn't mean that individual feminists do not do good things, or that women do not face particular disadvantages (as do men, distinctly). It means the movement is wrong conceptually, and leads to wrong theoretical conclusions, and interpretations, as well as to a wrongly discriminating distribution of resources: preferring women over men.

@zintarr @l777l @AJMXYZ A great character, I find. Her sophistication and depth coupled with that body is a powerful combination. Her being like naked did not reduce her grace and dignity. It actually underlined them. By the way, I have a hard time imagining a male character succeeding at this.

@BieberBeliever Such organized ideological movements are all problematic: membership in them endangers one's independent thought and independent emotion.

@zintarr @AJMXYZ Do you find that the creation of Cortana is sexist?

@follyconvention There are two main ways to approach objectivity: (1) utilitarianism (which however requires agreement as to what produces happiness; there's research into that, biologically and sociologically); (2) contract theory (usually operating from something like an "original position" -- see Rawls).

But yes, morality is very much like religion. And considerations of absolute values, such as "dignity" are commonly mixed into this, overruling pure utilitarianism. Then some give excellence/perfection a value that may compete with happiness. And so forth. It's chaos. Mill's distinction of direct and indirect harm does not help much.

@frozenux @l777l @codeman101360 Part of the allure of this is nakedness. That can't escape anyone. And yes it's integrated in some functional fashion. Functional way.

@hystavito It's the straw man that broke the camel's back. (I have no idea what that means.)

@Zork_Wesker @Articuno76 @Adamska1995 No, that was stated as a goal. The second was to show a contrast to Solid Snake.
