you obviously dont understand the biology of an addiction
Yeah, I do. I just don't believe it the way it's explained. It's already been proven wrong that addiction to cigarettes is that you can't live without them. We all know that's not true. So, if you ask me, true addiction is that you don't want to quit. Deep down you still want to smoke. Because really, if you wanted to quit you could do so with a little effort.
You're really underrating and misunderstanding nicotine addiction. There have been debates in the scientific community about what's more addictive between nicotine and heroin. Heroin! So please, do a little research before you say that somebody could quit "with a little effort". What a ridiculous statement.
Oh by the way, I don't smoke anymore and haven't for a couple years. Cigarettes, that is. The stigmatizing gets very old, though.
Sorry, I'm not easily pursuaded that people could be that weak if they really wanted to quit that they couldn't. And there is no way I'm going to under estimate anyone to that. Some people in my family have smoked for years and when it became a burden, they wanted to quit and they did quit. Just like that. No doctors help or anything.
And it just seems surreal quitting is near impossible. Except, if you indeed do not wish to quit. So, I stand by my statement saying you can quit if you want to and if you can't somehow you just don't want to quit.
If someone didn't WANT to quit, they wouldn't say that they ARE quitting... -.-
and when he said the stigmatizing is getting old, he's telling you to shut up about it, you don't know what you're talking about/
But, you know a lot of fat people saying they want to quit while eating a buket of ice cream and family size pop-corns. A lot of people just saying it, but not really put enough commitment. They say losing weight is so hard, doctors should sell pills to let them eat whatever they want and still stay fit. This is same as many smokers. They are only saying they want to quit, but they still want to taste it as if doctors should sell a pill to clean their lungs. And a lot of people swear to God and break the promise. No commitment.
there are a lot of differences between eating disorders and smoking cigarettes...you can hardly compare the two. the mental state of a patient with an eating disorder and one with a smoking addiction is pretty different. Many eating disorders start when the person feels bad, and so whenever the person is feeling emotionally hurt, they eat. Tobacco users take use of tobacco for relaxation and stress relief. It isn't really a crutch like an eating disorder is...
I think you need to stop trying to argue it anyways, it is pretty obvious that you are just an upset 12 year old that your father/mother smokes and are absorbing all the information DARE gives you anyways.
