@BlazeKingz: It's hard to read him saying "the entire country of Australia" and "I've also been told by Muselk that our coffees are too large as well" without hearing it as a joke. I think some people are too easily offended by apologies. Too many sensitive anti-SJWs here.
@mrougeau: Sorry, I didn't know you were that far behind. Season 1 was about Jesse trying to be a good preacher (unsuccessfully, but still) and the angels trying to get him to stop using his power. Again, not hard to follow. The "story" can change, it doesn't need to be a single plot for the entire show. It is very easy to understand the first season without knowing that the second season is about something else. In fact, most shows don't need to tell you what's going to happen in the next season. The complaint wasn't that the story couldn't be followed without reading the comic, it's that it's not what people who read the comic wanted it to be. It was very easy to follow.
"a story that people who hadn't read the comics could follow" I am almost always baffled when people say this, no matter what it's about. The story is that God's missing and they're trying to find him. Things go wrong along the way, and some people want to stop them. It's not complicated.
