@linusa: Keep in mind, it is pretty reasonable to guess that an armored car owned by a large company has some way for them to track it, in the event it is hijacked.
I really don't think that was the end of him. My guess is this was a way for us to get to know more about him, and to make him vulnerable to Genesis. He'll probably show up again, and he'll be more of what you expected him to be.
@Tamz: While that is true, it is also true that they aren't in the same world. I feel like I recall Dark Souls being referred to as a spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, so it is somewhat disconcerting to see that distinction made with Bloodborne but not Dark Souls.
Especially considering they even make some references to King's Field, which isn't included in the list at all.
