I heard the current 60 and 20gb ps3s have separate hardware to play ps2 games and the new 80gb version will instead use software emulation like the xbox 360. IMO having dedicated hardware seems like it would work better. Although I don't have many ps2 games I'd like to try out some of the metal gear series. I've never really played any, gasp, only tried it a few times at my friends and stuff. With MGS4 coming out I'd like to get caught up. I already have a 60gb so I guess I'm using the hardware, but if the software emulator ends up being better I'd hope Sony offers a way for everyone to dl it. What do you guys think?

It seems games are going to keep coming out for at least another year. That's good news and just to clarify I really meant games in general not just from Sony.

I keep my ps3 out of site in a tv stand so I don't usually see the top of it, but today I took it out since I wanted to move it and noticed one of my "PLAYSTATION" letters was missing. My first instinct is to blame my house keeper since she usually dust everything and probably wiped the top and scratched off the sticker some how. Well the sticker is no where to be found and it bugs me that my ps3 looks stupid. Anyone know if I can buy another sticker or something like that. If I contacted Sony would they even be able to get me one?

Anyone know if they're going to make a guitar hero 3 for the ps3? I'd like to get it since I just tried it out at my friends but I don't have a ps2 or 360. Can I just get the ps2 version and play it on my ps3 no problem? Is the guitar controller for the ps2 version usb or would I need to buy an adaptor?

Thanks

I think it's worth it. It was one of the better games that came out for the xbox 360 last year and it's supposed to be a decent port with all the extra features that the xbox players had to pay extra for. The reviews look pretty good to and I should be getting the copy I preordered from amazon within the next few days.

I have a Dell 2007WFP that supports 1680X1050 but some of the games I still play (BF2 I think) don't support wide screen so I end up using 1280x1024 or really 1024x768 since that's what my current 7600gt can take. The 8800GTS 320 sounds like it's a better deal but will I then not be able to run 1680x1050 in games like CS:source and BF2/BF2142? I'd at least like to max out these games since they're a little older.

Is it worth the $100 extra to get the 640mb 8800GTS or should I just stick with the 320? I don't need to run super high resolutions but I would like to get max settings on reasonable resolutions.
