Summer's Approaching...

Well, we've been having some of the best weather we have had in a long time in Australia right now!8) It went up to 33 degrees celcius the other day! A few weeks ago I was wearing jeans and jumpers, but now I'm down to T-shirts and shorts! I took advantage of the weather by giving my dog a big bath outside, and boy did she need it. It was so hot I even hosed myself down! It's just a simple reminder that a hot and sweaty Summer is approaching, and I'm prepared to take it on!

Happy Summer everyone! (sorry if your approaching Winter!)

Are Children Safe At School?

A few days ago, a school in Western Australia was rocked by a shocking event. A high school boy got up in the middle of class and stabbed two of his fellow students. Apparently, he had an on-going feud with them. This is completely shocking. My mother is a nurse, and she was working on the same ward as one of the victims was on, and he needed surgery, and his bowel system was nearly destroyed as a result of the stabbing. The other victim may lose movement of his fingers (he was stabbed in the arm).

All this fiasco, leads me to think: just how safe are our schools? It's absolutely terrifying. The Government is proposing security checks at schools, which I think is a great idea. It's about time.

I know that not every school will be completely secure, theres always the risk of drugs or bullying, which cannot be prevented easily. I know from experience schools arn't perfect. When I was in high school, people were constantly getting into fights or taking drugs. Some couldn't say no, but I managed to, so why can't others? I know I'm kind of going off topic there, but I'm raising a very strong point.

What do you all think of this issue?

Bindi Irwin

How brave is this little girl? She's just incredible, especially considering the recent passing on of her father, Steve. Bindi was recently at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, and she just had the best of stage. Her and her mum, Terri went up and stage and put on a very brave face. She also went around signing autographs which completely shocked me. At such a young age she's become such a strong role model. Terri told someone "Steve would be proud", and so he would. Steve was supposed to go with them, no one would've blamed them for not turning up, but they did it any way to honour his memory.

I know if I lost my father at such a young age, I wouldn't be so brave. It must've taken Bindi a lot of courage to go up on stage, and for that I admire her.

Clever Elephants

On my trip to Thailand last year we went to a elephant show. These very clever elephants performed all sorts of tricks, and luckily I managed to get many photos of them. So here's a few, and no your eyes are not deceiving you!

Enjoy!

Beauty Of Singapore

Linsey has inspired me. She's inspired me to post a wonderful and beautiful picture from my recent holiday to Singapore. It was taken at a beautiful park, it was massive, there were so many beautiful sights, but this one took my breath away.

Sick Dogs

Well, the past few days I have come down with a nasty bug. I feel horrible, and then to top it all of my dog decides to get sick as well. My poor darling dog. I have been ordered bed rest but that's hardly possible with a dog who keeps you up at night to run to the back door in case of an "accident". I feel as though I'm getting better, watching old episodes of ER and Will & Grace has kept me from pulling my hair out, while I scream of boredom. That hasn't stopped me from going onto the forums of TV.Com to discuss my favourite TV shows though! Oh well I seem to be on the road to recovery, and the dog seems to be getting better too. Thank God!

Season 6 Of ER

I bought Season 6 the other day and was just thrilled to see my favourite episodes again! My favourites, "Great Expectations", "Abby Road" and "Be Still My Heart". It was so sad when they killed of Lucy, imagine if she was still on the show now.. she would be an attending, perhaps Chief Resident...?? Who knows. But it was a rather noticeable exit, unlike some of the other ways characters were written. Like Dr Susan Lewis, all we got was a mention from Weaver.

And after watching the DVD, I was actually glad that Benton isn't on the show anymore, he's boring, and I don't think I've seen him have more than 3 expressions on his face.

On the brighter side of things I was glad to see my favourites like Corday and Greene. I miss them! But I love the cast as it is now and wouldn't change a thing.
