I have heard you can keep your old hard drive, buy a new system, then put that hard drive in before your first boot up and be fine. But I have also heard that swapping drives means the PS3 will be able to tell and force you to reformat. I am in the same boat too. Nothing left but to see what happens. If I were you, I would not send it back to Sony because I did, and that one got the yellow light of death. Which is like a worser way for a PS3 to leave this world. lol.

I tend to buy games with an involved story, outstanding gameplay, and an online component. It also helps if the game has decent replay value, DLC support, and long completion time or extra things to do besides the main campaign.

The exact same thing happened to me. I decided to switch to a slim. Luckily for me, I back up my game saves and trophies often and my hard drive for my 60gig works fine. Backwards comp isn't a big deal for me although I miss it for playing gt4 cause I wanna stay in top form for gt5 but who cares.

I don't know how to hack trophies so I got mine from hard work. I feel a little good knowing that I worked hard and got a trophy fair and square. In a way though, trophies make you "work" at playing games rather than just having fun and wasting time. I usually play games just to play them. If I get a trophy, great. If I don't, oh well. Don't really care.

Left 4 Dead wont come to the PS3 because Valve fear the PS3 and can't be bothered learning about any new technology. Just saw the boss of that company for the first time f**k he's disgusting.....anyway when I need a zombie fix I go for Nazi Zombies in World at War but really there isn't much else in the way of zombie games. Dead Rising 2 comes out this year though.

I still don't get Valve. They learned enough about the PS3 to make The Orange Box. Why not The Left 4 Dead Box?

...besides Resident Evil 5 or top down view PSN downloadable games out there? I really want to play a good zombie game on my PS3 but Left 4 Dead games for example are xbox and pc only. I really don't know why. They would probably make more money including the PS3 too. Right? Oh well.

I know how you feel XscutterX, I have also had two systems die on me. My original 60 gig, then the refurbished 60 gig. I get mad when I realize how much I have spent just trying to play games. I got the original back in 07 for $385 and then $150 on the repairs. I have decided to just get a slim now. I thought about switching to an xbox for a while but after doing the math, it is just cheaper sticking with a PS3 cause I don't have to worry about buying lots of new games, extra controllers, hd cables, paying for live and so on. Like Sony says, "PS3. It only does everything."

Is there any way to transfer game saves from your xbox 360 to flash drive? I back up my game saves on my other system (PS3) by copying it to a flash drive and saving it to my laptop. Can I do something similar with the 360?
