For the price of One 8800GTX and 2 gigs of Ram you can buy an Xbox 360 and PS3. :D

mismajor99

why buy a 8800gtx when a 8800gts 320 will max out any game? and 2gb ram costs about half a 360 game or maybe one 360 game for good stuff. you like giving away $1000 a year? thats what you do when you buy console games since you pay $10-$20 more

What if the person has his computer strictly for Gaming? What if the computer is hooked up to a 60" 1080p HDTV? A 320MB 8800 GTS would choke on World in Conflict at 1920x1080 resolutions, and games are only going to get more and more demanding with more time....

As much as I like your sig, you sir are out to lunch. I play WiC on a daily basis at 1920x1200 (1080 for console lingo) with my X1950 Pro 512 AGP card, no problem at all! If you realize anything about GPU's, my card is interior to any 8 series card, which can easily handle WiC. Please stop spreading misinformation.

The benchmarks are biased!!!!!

Are you serious? WiC runs perfectly on that rez not to mention that 90% of console games run at 720p and pathetically upscale (insert stretch) to 1080p NO native....

WiC will choke at 1920x1080 with a 320MB GTS, It's not enough VRAM....What does consoles have to do with anything? The guy above said a 320MB 8800GTS will max out any game..I'm simply saying that's not true..

Thats 1600x1200 too, not 1920x1080...And thats with 0xAA...10FPS Average..

360 is low to medium settings?Danm_999

Tim Sweeney from Epic seemed to think so.

http://www.pcgameshardware.de/?article_id=602522

So Bioshock is low-medium on 360?

Until now every PC gamer has acknowledged Bioshock is very high settings on 360.

m3Boarder32

Next time you make a counter argument, you might want to avoid the "every PC gamer" generalization.

Where is the Tim Sweeney on Boishock quote? :|

Dos Santos...worst barca player in history

alberth123123

Yep, kid is 18, and is not even a regular starter! Cracking Barca's starting XI shouldn't be a problem at 18.. I can see why no teams are eager to steal this kid away from Barca

[QUOTE="megamef"]The PC isn't one entity, PC games are developed with the lowest common dominator all the time, (unless they are not in case of crysis) so don't think that the 360 version will force the developers to downgrade very much.skrat_01

Thats why every PC equivilant of a PC game creams the 360 version in visuals.

Nice logic right there.

PC games cater for the high end user and lower en user, with hardware scaling.

Besides a 360 is a low to med, end PC. Heck even Epic said so.

360 is low to medium settings?

So Bioshock is low-medium on 360?

Did he just wrote better audio!?!?!?! LOL! Nice one... please explain.

Bebi_vegeta

Name a single PC game with Uncompressed or Lossless Audio :|

Yes ever heard of EAX or a sound card?

http://www.soundblaster.com/eax/abouteax/eax5ahd/

That's not lossless or uncompressed audio. Thats Surround Sound and nothing more..

http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=208&product=15854&nav=1&bypass=1

A Pc as dedicated sound processor with uncompressed audio... just look at the specs and it's the same as uncompressed. PCM wich is used by Open AL.

Too bad uncompressed audio is LPCM, not PCM :|

Their is no way the bandwidth of lossless audio will work thru optical out, it only works thru HDMI and 5.1 Analog Outputs.

And not only that, but lossless audio has to be on the disk...You can't just magically get lossless audio if it's not on the disk, why else do you think some Blu-ray and HD DVD movies have lossless audio, and some don't...

Heck, one of the reasons some HD DVD's don't have lossless audio is because it didn't fit on the disk..

What are you even talking about http://www.mpeg.org/MPEG/DVD/Book_B/Audio.html

LPCM Coding

Lossless/uncompressed PCM audio

Sampling frequency: either 48 kHz or 96 kHz

bits/sample: 16, 20, or 24 bits

This is exactly what the sound card can do.

Don't compare a movie to game...wow!

Thos specs you keep quoting mean absolutely nothing...They are the exact same specifications for regular ole Dolby Digital or DTS...

Bits/sample is not the same as bitrates...Lossless audio has bitrates of 4.0Mbps or better, regular Dolby Digital with all the specifications you listed above has bitrates of 640kbps..

4.0+ Mbps > 640 Max kbps

Why do people hafta talk about things they dont understand?!?! WHY WHy Why why WhY whY wHY!?!?!?

Enlighten me..You guys seriously think you can get lossless audio off a disk that doesn't have lossless audio on it in the first place? You think hardware can just magically create lossless audio? Off all the consoles only PS3 can get lossless audio, and on top of that not every PS3 game has lossless audio, LAIR, Motorstorm, Resistance, Ratchet & DirT are the only PS3 games I know of with lossless audio. But hey, you guys keep pretending in your own little dream world that hardware can turn regular surround sound into lossless surround sound..

You guys have never heard lossless audio in your lives, but you keep insisting you have any idea what your talking about...

another misinformed gamer. lossless audio is pointless without a delivery system. Only a handful of people have audio equipment capable of benefiting from lossless audio to the point of realizing it's benefits in gaming, period, end of debate. It's all about the delivery, otherwise it's pointless. If you want to talk about audio, one of the best experiences you can have is with a sweet pair of headphones, and that right there isn't utilized with consoles. I enjoy choosing between headphones or 5.1. Console only gamers? I would say the overwhelming majority use their onboard TV audio...hehe...doesn't matter what's lossless...

I have a HDMI Receiver, i get the lossless audio from my PS3 :|

I prefer my 360 to my PS3, but the PS3 has vastly superior Audio.
