Whoops, someone forgot to tell Disney/Buena Vista that they are exclusive to BD.

[QUOTE="tango90101"][QUOTE="Dire_Weasel"][QUOTE="AgentVX"]Plain and simply, HD-DVD is outselling BluRay as of now. And the PS3 has a 2nd rate BluRay player.
Dire_Weasel
Reading comprehension FTW. Blu-ray has already won the format war, the link was to a petition to keep a dead format alive.
Also, the PS3 is a top-tier blu-ray player. I'm sorry you don't own one or you'd know that. :)
1. a last place console dictates the worldwide format war? keep dreaming...
2. that's funny becuase sony is marketting the ps3 as a budget bluray player..NOTHING about quality vs. other standalone players...
Tango, aka, hd28guy_basic.. I'd like to thank you for being the only remaining HD-DVD fanboy on this forum.
I'd also like to thank you for not reading the links that you post, having no real grasp of the argument you're in, self-owning yourself at least once a page, and generally doing an excellent job of winning the argument for the other side.
In short, reading your threads definitely makes my day. Thank you. :)
And i'd like to congratulate you as being the only remaing Xbox hater (pre-2003) that kept his original screen name

Top Tier? It's the only HD player on either format that does not upscale DVD's...
No uncompressed audio via analog outs, (because it doesnt have them)
No 1080p24..........
[QUOTE="apolloluke"]Matrix Trilogy is exclusive to HD-DVD :)darthogre
rofl, if by exclusive you mean for a couple months.....you are correct. I've already been told by Warner reps that Matrix will be coming to Blu-Ray. Warner is supporting both platforms at the moment.
The Matrix Collection is time exclusive to HD-DVD correct...But the Ultimate Matrix Collection is HD-DVD exclusive, also, don't be surprised if the HD-DVD versions have better audio then the BD versions. Only The Departed has received uncompressed or lossless audio from Warner, while dozens of Warner movies have gotten lossless audio on HD-DVD
Meanwhile
Blu-Ray is outselling HD DVD

You mean BD outsold HD-DVD 9:2 for one week?! March 11th - March 18th
[QUOTE="m3Boarder32"][QUOTE="iunderstand"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]did ms stop making hddvs addon? haves stopped being published on hddvd? will the hddvd addon not work with elite? if none of the above are false then no one should feel burned the format war is far from over..it will be decided by dual players...iunderstand
HD-DVD add on may work with elite, but it'll stop working with the core and premium models due to the lack of hdmi. Once movies studios start adding content protection into their formats you'll have to upgrade to elite or you'll be stuck with a $200 doorstop.
In 2012?!

According to German-language Spiegel Online, there is reportedly a behind-the-scenes, unofficial agreement between Hollywood and some consumer electronics manufacturers, including Microsoft and Sony, not to use ICT until 2010, or possibly even 2012. Without providing more details, the report suggests that Hollywood isn't exactly happy with the situation, and could very well renege on the agreement, such that it is. But the agreement is there nonetheless, presumably to help the industry transition to HDMI. This could explain why the very same studios that pushed for HDMI and ICT have recently announced that they would not use it for the time being.
With Microsoft being a major backer for HD-DVD you can sure as hell bet HD-DVD won't implement ICT Tags until a new Xbox is out.
2010 is only in 3 years, I would expect a longer lifetime out of my electronics then 3 years. Assuming they even stay true to the agreement.
It wont be til 2012 tho...Watch..

HD-DVD is making a comeback
Here are amazon graphs from last 30 days:
Sales Rank Top 10 Movies: BD: 250.............HD-DVD 224
Sales Rank top 25 Movies: BD: 773............HD-DVD 545
Sales Rank of Top 100 Movies: BD: 3883.........HD-DVD 2007
# of Movies in Top 1000 BD: 14..........HD-DVD 23
HD-DVD is still dead. Its just that more HD-DVD movies came out in the last 30 days than blue-ray. With only one or two studios supporting you, there is no way it can survive. Microsoft doesn't even think it has a chance or they would have put the drive in their new elite model.pjoasil
There have been twice as many BD movies in the last 30 days, as there has HD-DVD movies. Around 30 BD movies in last 30 days, and around 15 HD-DVD movies in last 30 days.
