Now if you excuse me i was playing some Street Fighter 4 yesterday so i need to punch a Japanese guy because of the false sense of courage i got from the game.
@hppyhndsclb0 @GamerOuTLaWz It is to blame not because it was different, but because sold a lot...that's all, it was extremely popular but don't get me wrong, it is an excellent game and deserves all the praise it got, however after RE4 most developers (Capcom included) began to threw away the spooky atmosphere and the sense of tention old school survival horror games used to had (hell even RE4 was spooky) in favor of the action sequence approach with action heroes slaying monsters with sofisticated weapons, so yeah, in a way RE4 killed the old survival horror genre, but is not its fault, is the audience fault, i bet that if REmake would have sold like 10 millions copies and RE4 only 1 or 2 millions, RE6 wouldn't be the same game.
The problem is quite clear, the action approach, the Michael Bay and CoD crow are the ones who will buy a game like RE6 over something like Siren thus the developers will spend their resources into something like Dead Space, sadly RE4 was the first game to do this, however, even RE4 had a tense atmosphere and at least on your first playthrough there were some good scares, the issue is that gamers will be fine with just blood and monsters and developers will give them that, classic Survival Horror is dead and it will stay dead until the next RE bombs hard in sales or a Survival Horror game sells a lot more than a RE.
Some of the comments are pathethic, this shouldn't been about the show, i mean it doesn't matter if you are a Broni, a fan or just someone who isn't interested in it, this is about the work a bunch of guys decided to do just because they loved the show and the industry, and you know what, they seem to be doing a hell of a job, the mechanics actually look great, the animations have the feel of the show, in other words, sure it helps if you are fan of the show, but as long as the gameplay and the fighting mechanics work the way it sould be then this is a must look to every figthing fan or to anyone who appreciates indy games.
That's great senator, and i'm with you...but before i sworn eternal loyaltyto you...i must ask, how is the bill to study violence in movies and books doing? yeap, that's why i thought.
