Well on the benchmark I got 19FPS no AA 1280x1024 DX9Isbrealiompie

Definitely not normal.
-Defrag your hard drive
-Disable unnecessary Windows services (guide)
-Run a registry cleaner

You should be getting an average of 35 fps with the benchmark tool.

Crysis works better with NVIDIA xid32

Not entirely true. For dual gpus, yes sli is better than crossfire for Crysis, but you take the risk of getting an unreliable nForce mobo vs a superior Intel mobo. But for single gpu performance in Crysis, the HD4870 is faster than the the GTX 260, and the 9800gtx+ is faster than the HD4850 by 2-3 fps.

As a side note, it's not worth spending a lot of money for Crysis. It's playable at 25-30 fps and once you beat it, there's no reason to come back for more. Plus, the Cry Engine 2.0 will not be widely used in the future. Afaik the only games in development that use it are Warhead and an MMO. No developer is crazy enough to license such a demanding engine.

Plus with how Nvidia and ATI both tweak drivers just to get a better "score" it's just pointless if you ask me.ch5richards

Nvidia cheated, not ATI.

Isn't the hotfix actually before 8.7 was released?TrickyNicky

Yes, using 8.7 with the hotfix makes no sense.

Since when can you compare games with their system requirements and content ? Even games using the same engine can run differently (Bioshock/Mass Effect).

im using 8.7 with the hotfixGTR2addict

?

When I have them in high, the framerate is still pretty low, even in DX9 mode. bungie93

Did you play with AA on or off ? Run the Crysis Benchmark Tool and see how much you get. On all high no AA at 1280x1024 i get an average of 48 fps in DX9 using XP. (E6850 + HD4850 both at stock).

I have everything but the PCI Express 2.0, I have just a PCI Express 16x. So I was wondering if I actually need a PCI 2.0 or if I can use my PCI Express slot. So my real question is can I use my Motherboard.

0Goldeneye0

The card supports pci-e 2.0 but doesn't require it, so it'll work fine on your motherboard. Just make sure that your power supply can handle it.

They are supposed to blow air out, away from the cpu, I'm not totally sure how to make it blow out air instead of in, but I THINK (NOTE THINK) that depending on which cable you plug it up to (it should've come with two different power cables) it switches it from in to outdackchaar

It's more simple than that. Remove the fan, reverse the side and reinstall the fan. And yes it's supposed to blow air outside of the case.
