Also that it has been reported by a member at XS that microstuttering has been fixed on these. That alone is worth any sub 600 with the performance that we will get with no microstuttering.CreasianDevaili

Yes, I read that too. Here's the post.

I returned it because I got worse framerates in Mass Effect. Staryoshi87

That's strange. The hd4850 is 68% faster than 8800gt at 1680x1050 in Bioshock, which uses the same engine as Mass Effect.

Intel Speedstep is enabled in the bios. It lowers the multiplier to reduce power consumption when your cpu isn't doing intensive work.

Your RAM will not run in dual channel mode with one 2 GB stick and one 1 Gb stick. You should get 2x1 GB or 2x2 GB of RAM. You can choose the components on NICX and have them build the PC for you.

Yeah i forgot the optical drive like this Samsung DVD burner (on special at 25$) and a hard disk (Seagate 500 GB 67$).

And if you intend to overclock your cpu, get the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro LGA775 cpu cooler. And buy a couple of additional 120mm fans, a good brand is Scythe.

That's a motherboard for AMD cpus and your cpu is Intel.

Get this P35 Mobo (87$) instead and the E8400 cpu (186$).

Video card is great.

Power supply is overkill for your system. I suggest the Corsair HX 520W.

Edit: And you can save 45$ by getting the Antec 300 case.

HIS, Diamond, Palit: 1 year warranty
Sapphire, Powercolor: 2 years
Asus, Gigabyte: 3 years
Visiontek: lifetime

And use Driver Cleaner or Driver Sweeper to remove the Nvidia drivers.
