@zequex @MotRFalcon Yeah. But look at the guy with batman arkham game image ( great game by any means ), in which the whole progression was inspired by metroid.

@packtop He's totally wrong. I will repeat myself but that's fine: from the technical standpoint they came up first with gamepad ( the nes ), dpad, shoulder buttons, analog stick for consoles controller, and then motion controls which work fantastic if done right. Also each iteration of their main franchises almost always brings new gameplay techniques to the table that are later copied by other. And if they don't do it "in house" they put money towards it. I mean you must be a total knob if you can't see how much of an impact their own franchises, their 2dn and 3rd party franchaises always have on the industry.

@Millard11 @megatronx2 You are very misinformed. Just because you only recognize couple of classic franchises, that doesn't mean they haven't released many more that had an impact on how games are being developed now. Also every new home console zelda and many of mario games bring new technologies to the table which later are being copied by other devs. And your xbox controller analogy is false - in fact you sound like a total 360 fanboy. Just watch wu gamepad impact tests and how tough that thing is to break. And to your knowledge i game on every system, and with pc i use 360 controller just because it came with 360.

@max-hit @megatronx2 I know. I'm very selective, I'm not a fan boy of anything else, other then just good games. But in recent years there is growing confusion in what is good and what is not, with line between those two blurring more and more.

EDIT@ it's different to what you enjoy. You can enjoy mediocre or bad game, but you should acknowledged why is bad instead of raving how great it is. Don't know if you ever played Chaos Legion - game made by the team which delivered such "classics" as dmc2. The game is really really bad, but i enjoyed it ( probably because of kick ass ost; but never finished it... ).

@max-hit @megatronx2 That depends on the game. I don't have that much spare cash to buy games often. There are games i know I will buy at some point, and games I'm not sure about so want to see what others think first.

@max-hit @megatronx2 I agree. There's plenty of those. However there are some who take their time in analyzing game's pros and cons in detail from a long time gamer perspective. And for that you dont need education, only need to be playing games for a long time and have brains. :>
