I enjoyed Dragon Age Inquisition, it was definitely a step up from Dragon Age 2 even though I also enjoyed that game, but it was really lacking in the world design and combat. Which was a lot better in DAI, but I hope they return to a bit more serious and tactical combat-style, as the combat in DAI was satisfying enough, especially being a mage, but I do miss the more tactical aspect from DAO. That being said, the dragon fights where really fun in DAI, which seemed like the only encounters where you had to use some tactics and manage all your characters to prevail.
But they really have to step up their game now with so many more developers making great open world RPG games that has surpassed even the best from Bioware. They need to write more mature and engaging stories without too many cliche characters and cringe worthy romance plot lines. If their next big single player RPG ends up like another Mass Effect Andromeda, their days will be numbered I think. And of course we have to take EA into account and what type of horrid micro-transaction scheme they are going to push on the game.
I will try to remain hopeful, but I will also stick with a healthy does of skepticism. I don't want to get as hyped about their next big RPG as I was with Andromeda and end up so disappointed again.
Their next announcement for the next ME game will probably go something like this.
Our modern world is an increasingly connected one, our mobile devices keeps us closer together to our friends, family and loved ones. So we knew that we want to use mobile devices as the platform for a new Mass Effect game. Because nothing keeps the family together like Asari butts.
But we want to do it in a way that is true to Bioware, putting story first. We want to do it in a way that feels right for Mass Effect. We are making a full fledged action RPG you can play everywhere, with everyone...
@gleencross: What is wrong with skiing during WW2?
Ski warfare is a thing, and it was a fairly common means of transportation for Norwegian troops, which is where I believe that part of the campaign takes place. And Finnish ski troops played a key role in the war between Finland and The Soviet Union.
Hopefully is longer and more fleshed out than the lackluster war stories in BF1. They had potential, but they where so short that I never really got any feel for the characters or their stories.
If this is another 4-6 hours long campaign I won't bother, especially since the MP does not really look that interesting to me.
I hope the CGI is better, at least for the Rhinos if they are going to show up again, as they looked really bad. I also hope it has less focus on the side characters and more focus on Black Panther himself, at least make sure he gets the best action sequences.
And it is probably an unpopular opinion but I also hope they will have a better villain as I thought Killmonger was just ok at best. He just lacked screen time to make him truly stand out to me. Thanos in Infinity War is the character with the most screentime in the entire movie, which is one reason I liked him so much as a villain. He just felt much more developed. And action between the Hero and the Villain is always less interesting when they have the same or similar powers.
Besides that I was very pleased with the world building, music and some of the visuals in Black Panther. It was definitely a fun movie, but I do find it a bit overrated. That being said I am excited for the next movie, though it remains to be seen how Avengers 4 turns out and how everything will continue. Who knows, they might completely fail with Avengers 4.
@alex33x: You are partially correct as The Last Jedi ruined the future trilogy completly for me as well. Though I will try to just ignore it as horrible fan fiction.
That being said, one of the big reasons why the Clone Wars series became as popular as it did, was because of the stories involving the clones and not just the stories with the Jedi and the Sith. While that aspect of Star Wars is of course the prime pull, there are a lot of awesome stories that can be done without Jedi.
And while I absolutely hated TLJ, I really loved Rogue One as I felt it enhanced what came before it instead of breaking it apart and destroying the old for the sake of the new. And that story did not really revolve around the Jedi at all.
So for me, as long as these shows do not directly try to tie themselves into the new trilogy, I will watch them. But the first mention or reference to any of the stupid new characters like that horrible Holdo character, then I will be out.
@im_a_big_db: But then again, most review sites praised The Last Jedi into the sky, and that turned out to be one major pile of garbage so I am not sure I will listen to any reviews anymore and just see for myself if I like the movie or not.
