Let's face it...sales DO matter--especially in a multiplayer game (single player they really don't matter a whole lot as you have the same experience whether or not others are online and available to play).

one thing that makes Halo3 so great is that there are always a ton of people online even over 1 year after the game launched. When you add in a skill leveling system to match you against equally skilled players it's gaming bliss--short waits to play a game against people in your same skillset. Halo3 would suck right now if it only sold a fraction of its sales.

The next AAA to flop in sales will be? Keep in mind if you suggest a game you are hyping the AAA status of the game, but also predicting very low sales.

stiltzsy

this thread fails online for killzone 2 most of the games are filled you have to find openings to play and killzone 2 is currently more than a million which is alot of people.

[QUOTE="Dr_Snood"]Ouch horrible KZ2 sales here in NA. O well I am still enjoying the game so what difference does it make?karasill

You might not see a Killzone 3 because of it. That's the difference and outcome if it doesn't sell enough to justify it's 60 million budget it tookto be made.

the world doesnt revolvve around NA

[QUOTE="pyromaniac223"] Dude, he's raising valid concerns. This game has a pretty risky player-driven command structure. Online, most people don't want to work as a team. They just want to shoot stuff. Here, that could be a gamebreaker.pyromaniac223

that's life who cares kick them out of the team then that's not going to stop millios from having fun lol

Problem is, you kick them out of the team, you have a numbers deficiency. Also, if you institute a kick mechanism, what's to stop people from abusing THAT?

don't worry about these things whatever happens will happen i'm sure most players will act according to rules I play killzone 2 online and so far peopel do what they have to I havent seen anyone shoot their own teemates yet when we have to hold position the helghast or ISA do what tey are suppose to and defend the position or when we have to do assassinations the same thing the team goes and tries to assasinate the enemy team so far it has been organised I havent seen chaos like teamates killing teammates it gets chaotic as the other team can get difficult and team up on you but that's a challenge but I only heard of crazy things like teamates killing each other on xbox live havent seen it on psnetwork yet.

[QUOTE="mgsfan1189"]

[QUOTE="PBSnipes"] But you still need to coordinate with your team's other squads and the team "commander". Yes, in theory, it's a great idea -- the commander tells the squad leaders what to do, and the squad leaders tell their squads how to accomplish those goals. But in reality, there is too much room for error -- on a 128-person team, you're almost certainly going to get at least a handful of griefers, players without mics and players who won't listen to orders. Like I said before, if the average 16-person team in Killzone 2 cannot organize (with the ability to form 4-person squads, mind you), chances are the 128-person team in MAG won't either.

Hopefully I'm wrong because MAG is a promising looking game, but I've played too many shooters to believe things will be different with MAG.

dude so what you wnat be done stop making multiplayer online games cause people are dumb and don't follow rules ? you can't control peoples life regardless the game will be as controlled as possible especially with that team of 8 and will be heck of alot of fun even if 1 or 2 people are brats. just look at halo 3 with it's little kids killing their own team it's still played by millions world wide regardless if little kids ruin the fun.

[QUOTE="Doolz2024"]Again, you will be apart of an 8 player squad, on a 128 player team. It's you, and 7 others that need to do a job. It's not like people are going to refuse to to do their job, because in a small group, things will be a bit easier, especially when it comes to teamwork and communication ;)PBSnipes

We have all these 'graphix' king topics, but they never stay king for too long and graphics won't ever replace gameplay.

As for my opinion I honestly can't make up my mind, to me its between L4D, Valkria Chronicles, or Zelda: LttP

Little Big Planet no doubt and it's got all those awards that it rightfully deserves.

[QUOTE="Doolz2024"]Then it's the player's responsiblity to work as a team and communicate. It will basically be you, and 7 others (8 man squads), with an objective to complete. It's not like you're having to communicate with 255 other players, it's only with 7. This will prevent the game from becoming one big unorganized mess, again as long as people DO THEIR JOBS, of course....PBSnipes
But that's exactly my point -- most players *don't* do their "jobs". It's not a major issue in most 16/32-player shooters because the maps and teams are small enough that the handful of players who understand tactics can control a game, but in a game like MAG you need every teammate to understand their role. If the average Killzone 2 player doesn't understand the benefits of forming squads or using basic tactics, I find it hard to believe they'll be able to function as part of a 128-person team.

the 128 team will be seperated by squads of 8 and in every individual squad there will be orders specifically for that squad that's how I believe will be done.

this is not killzone 2 or halo 3 type online it's going to be different no need in comparing the onlines to those games.
