"We’re pleased to announce that PS Now, PlayStation’s streaming and download service that gives users access to over 600 games at the touch of a button, is available in seven extra countries from today.

PS4 players in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway will be able to instantly stream or download hundreds of amazing games on their console.

And you’ve a huge range of titles to get stuck into. Games include blockbuster smashes such as Mortal Kombat X, For Honor and WWE 2K18, critically-acclaimed PlayStation exclusives like Bloodborne, The Last of Us and God of War III Remastered, and family-friendly experiences including LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One and Sonic Generations.

On console, you have the choice to download PS4 games onto your hard drive. If you decide to stream, you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off, regardless of whether you’re playing on PS4 or PC, thanks to cloud saving.

And the catalogue continues to grow: every month more games join the library, so there’s no better time to try out the service. In Europe, PS Now is also available in UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg.

Sign up here to start your free 7 day trial and find out more about the service here."

Ignoring everything else about this what exactly is the hardware going to be? ARM or x86. If it’s arm that means no AAA games and if it’s x86 that means no android games. I can’t see how this is going to do anything but lock segments of their own customers out of some of their own ecosystem.

If its x86 they could emulate ARM if it's as powerful as the X.

They could, but just my experience with running Bluestacks leaves me skeptical that they will be able to get good performance on current and future high-end games. I'm sure they have SDKs for this but I can't say I'm convinced. Further they will likely be running some flavor of Linux which automatically excludes a large number of PC titles unless they secure Linux ports. I'm sure they can technically produce the hardware and even for a reasonable price. It's the where's and how's of how they will technically get game content worthy of a console more powerful than X on it. I'm not interested in purchasing a powerful console solely for the being able to run an android emulator at 60fps.

There’s no point in making a “weaker” version because thar becomes the baseline for all games.

@AgentA-Mi6:

The idea of rare games will only be relevant to collectors in the digital age. Generally these only get value for being a rare item which was well known and received. Example, Superman 64. There’s a guy on eBay trying to sell it for $120 but the few other copies sell for $10 and under. Anyone wanting to play it for lolz will grab the rom for free. Same with this game. The demand will be low enough that any of the few collectors who wants to grab it will be able to do so for a reasonable price.

On topic: I tried the remote play on my iPad and iPhone and it works perfectly. Now what we need is native Dualshock 4 support so I don't need to use the touch screen for gaming which sucks. I hear DS4 is supported in jail broken iPhones already. I've also heard that it's possible to use third party controllers on your iPhone that work with remote play but I don't want that. I wanna use my DS4s on my iPhone and iPad.

In my original post there are some control options.

In order to use a DS4 you would need to use the 2nd account workaround.

Create a second account and Remote Play into that account.

Then take a second controller to log into your normal account. Your remote play connection should still be active.

This only works in close proximity to your PS4. So whatever the controller range is.

I also ordered one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Smart-Clip-PlayStation-DUALSHOCK-Controller/dp/B00FLLFGO8

The added bonus for these is that you can plug directly into the dualshock for sound and chat. Negative is getting it started each time. That's why I'm opting for the MFI.

Wow, quite a no. of development effort has been wasted on redundant app. I mean Youtube already works on iOS out of the box, you know the only app you need to enjoy majority of Sony's library.

2014 called, and they want their old jokes back.

You would love to go back to 2014-2015 though, won't you Quad? Such a shame that in 2019 you are already on your second alt. Anyway, what joke? It was Sony that marketed UC2 as a movie in 2009 not in 2014.

Har har har...you're not as funny or as smart as you think you are.

Of course, it's sad instead of funny when a game publisher hypes the passive nature of its games in an active entertainment medium. Anyway that's already much more attention than what I usually gives to an alt. Bye and enjoy while you last.

Yeah, none of this is remotely relevant.
