@Xamufam: I would agree in the fact that the force powers came so easily to her. Pulling the lightsaber to her is one thing, but she was able to effectively use the jedi mind trick without knowing anything about it. In the battle with Kylo Ren she was losing then "oh yeah the force" and then she starts winning.
@Zerabp: You have counter arguments, that is good. My point was most of the Star Wars fans I have run into just make the excuse that "It doesn't matter." And regardless of what you say, it is still valid criticism. Having a counter argument does not negate the first persons argument. The movie does follow the plot of the original movie very closely and that is a fact. Future movies can still go in a different direction and I would welcome that. I did not hate this movie, but many fans are so adamant about their point of view that it makes it hard to enjoy it.
@Tyson8earzz: I like this comment. It is very insightful. Titanic did not have a huge following when it debuted. It was just a movie people watched and liked. Star Wars however has been around for forever. Games, movies and toys are everywhere. A lot of the sales are just because of the name. That does not necessarily make it a quality movie. Making an original movie that will attract these numbers is a lot more difficult than building on an already solid, well known foundation.
