I know I'm in the minority, but I'll be glad when the current media Jordanfest is over.

Happy birthday Mike.

Kobe had a nice strecth of games here too.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/514596-remembering-the-2002-2003-season-kobes-streak-of-nine-straight-40-point-games.

The Lakers were 7 and 2 during that run.

Beautiful.

Like it too. Stats may not tell the whole story but stats and especially advanced stats help to get closer to the "truth" about a team or player. "Truth" should be the goal.

[QUOTE="Put_in_Kitna"]

Kyle Irving took last shot vs spurs. One of the worst ive ever seen, stunk so bad. Very impressed no hablo, I can see why you would pick this guy over Jordan at the buzzer.

No_Hablo_Ingles

Damn, now he's like 7 for 10 on game winning shots in his second year!

Kyrie is a bad man!

Looking forward to James/Durant tonight.

Oh you are a Laker fan right? You must be one of those Kobe>MJ guys. Refreshing indeed.

I'm one of those "Kobe fan 1st, Laker fan 2nd". I'm one of those "Kobe as talented as Jordan" guys. I'm one of those "Jordan's not The Greatest, nobody is" guys.

I have no problem with anyone saying Jordan is the greatest, but too many MJ fans are not happy with that, they want others to believe it too. When someone disagrees (even in one area of the game), here come the insults, "dumbass", "mofo", "little wein", idiot....etc.

That's ridiculous to me.

For what it's worth (not much), I applaud you for holding your ground, kinda refreshing.

You want refreshing put on a tampon. You wanna laugh read no hablo sports current opinion then watch him flip flop it later.

Got one I could borrow? It is refreshing to see someone not riding Jordan's jock.

You misunderstand, I am not saying he wasn't great- he most certainly was- I am saying there are players that I would want to take the final shot more. I'm not saying Durant or Melo or Irving are better players than MJ, I am saying that all of them are more capable of getting a high percentage shot and get it off quickly with pressure in their face.

Nah man, you MUST never, ever, ever say you would choose anyone over Jordan, ever! Don't do it!  He's Michael Jordan! ;)

For what it's worth (not much), I applaud you for holding your ground, kinda refreshing.

Comparing MJ/LeBron is fair even if they have different set of skills. You could argue LeBron being the best player of all time. Greatness is another thing, greatness has more components than talent. Jordan greatness has to do with him seemingly always coming big when needed, unlike LeBron choking in Boston and against the Mavs and that is something LeBron can never take back. It has to do with, at the time, the most popular athlete in world at the top of his game retiring to play baseball supposedly because his father was gunned down(touching but what about the gambling angle)? His rise coinciding with the rise of sports entertainment on TV and multimillion dollars endorsement. Those thing are out of LeBron hands and are unique to Michael. Coming back and winning a second repeat. Also the fact that Jordan is so fresh in the public mind hurts LeBron because people are so quick to come on MJ defense with scores of stories documenting Jordan facts and myth. Plus that ridiculous "The Decision" which hurt LeBron's image unlike Jordan which is known as perhaps the most meticulous sport figure toward shaping his public image. And we having talked about the 6 vs 1 advantage on Titles, Jordan being clearly a better player at the defensive end, plus 6-0 on the Finals winning all 6 Finals MVP (another thing LeBron can NEVER match).

Lets just enjoy this LeBron run and let the chips fall where they may.

I agree with most of what you say. Honest question:

"His rise coinciding with the rise of sports entertainment on TV and multimillion dollars endorsement. Those thing are out of LeBron hands and are unique to Michael."

Do you think if MJ didn't exist and Lebron (with all the skills he has) showed up in MJ's place in time,  that a similar marketing campaign could be built around Lebron that would make him become the world wide fiqure that MJ was/is. (Assuming Lebron won a few rings as well)?

Never said Bron couldn't pass MJ, just that he's not at his level yet imo. I watched MJ most his career, and there's no question he's a better pure shooter than Lebron. And Jordan was on the All defensive team 9 times.

I want MJ with the ball for the game winner all day too.

I understand, no problem with your position. I'd take Lebron, even now, just my opinion after seeing them both. I even understand about "pure shooting", but what I'm seeing now is a guy (Lebron) shooting like a pure shooter from long range (better percentage wise than some pure shooters including MJ).

I would rather have Lebron or Pippen on defense, those guys are/were more versatile in that area.
