Games should run fine. Certain software though (not games) is designed for and will only run on 32bit systems.

More than 4 gigs of ram was beneficial before i7. Now it's just "more" beneficial and practical for gamers.

emachines T5042

Of the three different processors it can come with, they're all pretty old. Don't really think an overclock would be worth it. If you still plan on doing so I'd recommend giving your heatsink a look to see how much dust it has accumulated(assuming you've never done this before).

Can't really say I know, but the best way to find out is to do it yourself. Not every processor is going to work exactly the same though. Grab P95, overclock in small increments and use it to stress the cpu. When you start seeing errors, thats a sign you've reached your limit on whatever voltage you have.

Just went ahead and tried it out for myself. Core and memory overclock had no effect on the folding. Only a higher shader clocked showed more performance.

I'm guessing you have a USB keyboard. Most motherboards still don't have usb keyboard and mouse support enabled by default. Try using a ps/2 keyboard.

I'd say it'd be a mix of performance increase and decrease. Slightly more decrease though.
