I'm willing to bet they've lost a lot more than that. I went to SIGGRAPH 2012 and they were there at the job fair hiring pretty aggressively. I wonder what has them bleeding employees so heavily that they're even eager to entertain people fresh out of college? Hopefully that's not indicative of the work atmosphere there.
And people said it wouldn't happen to Bioware. HAH! Let this be a lesson, STOP GIVING IN TO EA! Do not sell out to them, do not buy from them, let the dry up and disappear like the cysts they are. EA is like a morbid golem made of the faces of studios they've destroyed and/or are destroying, screaming out to be set free.*sings* LET MY DEVELOPERS GO! Ahem...on a serious note, I hope these guys leaving the studio will get back together and form a new one, hopefully a lot smarter now about how publishers like EA work.
@BloodyAura I don't understand it, either. I didn't find any of those characters in FF14 to be particularly interesting, but Lighting was especially stiff and difficult to appreciate. Why they feel she's the new "Cloud" is beyond me. In all honesty, it feels more like they're shoving her down our throats to MAKE us like her. Good luck with that.
Wow, really? Blaming it on GW2/WoW? Metacritic? No one is buying that crap, if anything it just makes the company look worse for being either unwilling to admit to misteps or being completely oblivious to what for everyone else is plain and simple; the game isn't good enough. The combat is floaty, the animations are awkward, the graphics are mediocre, the quests are redundant and the skill system is limited and uninteresting. TSW has two amazing elements going for it, one being the main storyline (which is great and well-done) and the other being the investigative missions. Unfortunately, both of those elements encompass maybe 20-30% of the game, where the rest of it is the same boring MMO tripe wrapped in a dysfunctional battle system. I can't imagine why no one wants to play it.
I'll buy my "vintage" games off Ebay any day over giving that money to Gamestop, based just on how little I'm sure they bought those games from the original owners.
Amused at all the people questioning why this is necessary in ways that prove exactly why this is necessary. Good job being utterly devoid of anything resembling common sense. And proof-reading, evidently.
Trading post has been up, they're just only allowing a small amount of people to use it at a time. It was about 10% earlier today, now about 25%. I've been able to use it all day. They restricted access to trade and mail due to the account hackings.
