This is actually rather irrelevant. It's a red herring on the NRA's part, as you can bet they're who are behind it, but in the end it's just an attempt to make it seem like something is being done. In the end, violent games would be found to have no impact. If, somehow, it was found to be the opposite, they'd make efforts to avoid violent games ending up in the hands of the young which....is already supposed to be happening. So really, what would this change? Not a damned thing. You couldn't shut down violent games entirely for the same reasons you can't stop violent movies, they've already been deemed protected free speech.
Really, the only unfortunate part of this is the waste of tax dollars and time it will be.
@Frimmel @aovannor It is a rip off. When you purchase a collector's item from someone you're not paying for the work they put into collecting it, you're paying for the worth of the items themselves. It doesn't matter if they went to the ends of the earth to acquire it if it's not worth something, and the majority of those games aren't. Out of 700+ games maybe 10% of them are worth anything especially since they aren't in mint condition, which is what an avid collector would actually be looking for (and why unopened games like Mario and Final Fantasy go for $500+). What this guy is offering on the other hand, is just the chance to play them all, and that's what emulators are for.
No other game deserved the number one spot. No, really. I'm sort of burned out on it, but we're not just talking about quality here because if this was purely a matter of quality, all of those games (and more) would deserve the number 1 spot. GW2 broke new ground for MMOs and took a leap of faith without the subscription fees. Months later, when every other MMO loses the majority if not all of its population, GW2 is still juggling overflow servers and people still can't transfer to the server they like with consistency because they're always full. Without a sub fee the updates are constant, we've had two big events already with another coming up and a January update promising to be bigger than every other update we've seen so far combined. GW2 is in a category of its own, that's why it deserves the #1. Time is just smart for recognizing that.
@Scorpion2929 Who it's aimed at is irrelevant, my point is that it's their job to have an opinion about games and things involving games including, as customers just like us, say what they do and do not want to see being made by developers. You don't necessarily have to agree with it, but that is sort of the point to a site like this.
In a word, no. I hate all these extra components they keep trying to shove on gamers. Just give me a friggin controller and call it a day. I don't need or want the rest and not a single gamer I know cares about them other. Anytime a game forces us to use some new gadget, in fact, we skip it and just watch the Let's Play on youtube instead. A good game is all we need, as in good story good mechanics and good characters. Unless and until you can actually transport me INTO THE GAME ITSELF, skip the gimmicks and stick to what works best.
@Scorpion2929 *Gasp* a magazine created by gamers, read by gamers and commented on by gamers suggesting components about games that they do and do not like?!?!OH THE HUMANITY.
One of the few times I'd stick up for Microsoft. Let ANYONE who stands in the way of a new Killer Instinct BURN IN THE ETERNAL FLAMES OF CINDER!!!!!For serious though, how is it Microsoft can't renew Killer Instinct, which they owned first, but Fox was able to create Killer Instinct in the first place, which came later? US Trademark and Patent offices are run by 'tards, in all seriousness. These are the same people that allowed Disney to trademark characters that have existed for hundreds of years. Everyone over there should be fired, get some people in there that actually give a damn about their work enough to do the research and treat intellectual material with the respect it deserves.
@spoonybard-hahs They're not schizophrenic, they're just run by a bunch of teenagers with no concept of the real world. That they'd even target Zynga on such asinine accusations makes them look like children egging grampa's door.
