Ugh, I'm so over it. I used to be excited for new consoles, but not it seems that games themselves can't keep up with technology. In the past 5 years there have been so many iterations of various consoles, both typical and hand-held, it's like you get 2-3 years of fun out of it before its obsolete. I get more bang for my buck with a good PC and Steam than I do with consoles. I'll definitely be skipping this one.

All this Kickstarter stuff is getting to be worse than those celtic group beg-a-thons on PBS. I had no problem with it when Kickstarter was the 'little guy's' way in, but lately it's become another means of profit and advertisement. Getting rather sick of people corrupting things originally meant to foster community and creativity.

@GamespotAudio I've been enjoying the beta a lot myself, more than I expected. I agree, it fills that Ultimate Alliance void. That said, those prices are still outrageous. 1 new hero + 2 costumes upwards of $20. I had hoped it would be more comparable to their other game, where $20 can get me much more. They've only said that you can earn heroes in-game, they didn't say you can earn them ALL, and they never stated how hard it will be to do so. If you give players a .000000000000001% chance of something, you can still say that have the opportunity to get it and not be lying. I won't rail on the company until I see what their launch is like, but color me skeptical.

@enartloc @DeViLzzz No, it's not. It's F2p up to 28 now and F2P completely in February. Buying the box now only gets you Founder's status when it goes F2P, otherwise the box is not necessary.

@monson21502 @wavelength121 Video games are already federally recognized as forms of free speech, federal laws overrule any other law in any other state. Furthermore, there are actually no enforceable laws against this in the first place.

@darkeyez81 It's not the same thing for a lot of reasons. First off, I can log onto a friend's account and play his games on my computer, it's a great way to try out a game before I buy it and, if I like it, I buy it too and we play it multiplayer. Secondly, I can play the game from any computer I can log into from my steam account. That's quite a bit different than attempting to bring your CONSOLE game to a friend's house to play for a night of fun, and being unable to since the game is tied specifically to your console. Third, steam has huge sales that sell for as much or less than your average used console game, which makes the whole pill easier to swallow. So on and so forth. You can't really compare the two.

@Mr_Mark_Legion @kpolicoff @sonicare Sad as this is, that's honestly the best way to look at it. If they're going to treat used games like pirated games, why bother? Just pirate everything, get it for free entirely.

@phrasesound @pongley Forming any argument on popular opinion is a logical fallacy for a reason. No one said the game would be chosen based on this criteria, that it's a game feature doesn't mean it's a dominant element in a game. It's simply there. Just like it's simply there in real life, most likely surrounding you, and you just don't know it because it has nothing to do with you and thus you justifiably ignore it. Ignore this too, if it bugs you this much.

Don't know why everyone is in a tizz. There's an extremely easy way to fight it; if they add this to ps4 and/or their games, you don't buy them. If you don't like it, you don't buy it. Don't just give in because the game is shiny and new, show some self-respect and willpower and do not purchase something you feel you will regret later on. When they aren't getting your money, they'll be screwed. End of story.

There's no way to justify this. I don't see Honda bitching that they aren't making money from used car sales, and they have a lot more to lose than $60 per disc. Sony can jump skinless into a vat of salt for all I care. Frankly these days, the PC has been getting so much game love I'm not seeing how one less console is going to be a huge loss anyway.
